Footwear for sumo deads

Unlike conventional deadlifting, sumo requires you to push out in the sides of your feet... so you need appropriate footwear.

I use these

The only issue I see is the tip obscuring the view of the judges when trying to determine whether or not you're deep enough... in LK.
