Holy crap, under $3 doz here. I think last I paid $2.69 or close to it. Some times they have them for $.99 a doz on sale with a coupon. I buy the max as i eat eggs a lot. For $4 I can get the fancy cage free range eggs. I cannot tell a diff so I do not. I do buy local eggs from time to time for the same price. they, I can tell a diff as they eat bugs and all sorts of chicken edible things.
damn! So the rest of us are getting the SHAFT! This bird flu shit is nothing but a scam to raise prices for some of us.

I started going to the commissary near me due to the ridiculous egg prices (and food in general) around me. Went to one Trader Joe's but they were out. Still about $4/dozen at the commissary, but that's manageable and they have inventory. Big savings on a lot of what I buy by doing this. If you you have a DoD ID with commissary privileges, something to think about.

Yep, remember during covid, all meat producing plants "catching fire"? I believe you. I also believe that the global elites like Gates and Soros want us to eat bugs while they dine on Wagyu Filet Mignon. Coincidence? nope

We live fairly close to a couple giant egg producers. With products as fragile as eggs, transportation increases cost exponentially due to product loss.

Man, food prices are wild lately. I’ve had to get a little creative to keep things from blowing up my budget. One thing I’ve been doing is stocking up on stuff that lasts, like dry whole milk. It’s been super handy—works for cooking, baking, or even just making a quick glass when I’m out of fresh milk. It’s a small thing, but it helps stretch things a bit.

If you want ideas on how to get cheap complete protein from different foods and how to best combine them, you might find an app called ProteinAid useful. I can't post any links here, but you can search for ProteinAid on both App store and Google play.

Both Aldi’s and Walmart sell organic grass fed and finished ground beef for less than $7/lb.

And believe it or not, but Walmart’s organic grass fed and grass finished beef is exclusively from a massive farm in Utah. Hard to beat a 3 pack of 93/7 organic, grass fed and finished ground beef for ~$20.

Yea, Aldi's has 93/7 grassfed ground beef just under $6/pound. Their regular 93/7, as well as Wal-Mart are >$7/pound:eek: I think people are catchning it though because now it's out of stock:(

Eggs are a g-damn rip-off out here (Ca). A dozen eggs are >$7, and 5 dozen are like $39 or something. An 18-ct are like around $11:(

I'll have to check out the Wal-Mart grass-fed again. I have not checked their price in a long while.

Food prices are wild right now, and it’s like everything’s getting smaller or costing more. Even basics like chips feel like a rip-off lately.
I’ve been trying to meal prep and stretch things out, but it’s tough when everything just keeps going up.
The other day, though, I treated myself to this Italian restaurant Perth WA I’d heard about. It’s in this old-school building, and the food was so good.

Regular eggs were $5 a dozen in the store this week. Damn!

We had 5 chicken and if you know anything about chickens, egg production drops hard in winter even with a light. We picked up 10 hens and a rooster that are at 8 months for $10 each. We are now getting 7-8 eggs a day. I don't eat chicken abortions but the family goes through them fast.

There's a pig I raised in the freeze, 3 doe and a buck keeping him company. It's not a lot for a big family but the deer totals about 150 lbs of meat. I butcher the deer myself so the entire process is free and I enjoy it from field to table.

I haven’t had eggs since Christmas.
Sam’s had them for a good price for 18 for $6-8.

I have a Walmart Neighborhood Market by my house and every morning they stock the cooler with eggs and every afternoon it is or almost is bone dry. people go nuts as we learned during the shutdown with toilet paper.
