It is important to make the muscle feel the weight instead of making the body feel the weight on the bar when trying to gain muscle. In other words strive hard to get the mind-muscle connection right during your exercises in the local gym. If you are not prepared to go to the local gym, you would do well to use the home gym to perfection and get the mind-muscle connection in place. The next step is that you should have a thorough idea of the weight in reps that you should be using on your bar. This is an important step as it will lead to solid gain in muscle.

When the goal is to gain muscle try to increase the weight on the bar gradually if you feel you could do the lifting of the previous weight with ease and comfort. On the other hand experimenting with heavy weights all of a sudden should be avoided by all means. What is the use of attempting to gain muscle without taking protein laden food to your advantage. It is extremely important to concentrate on the intake of foods laden with protein. You might wonder what these foods are. See to it that your meal comprises of brown rice, steak and green vegetable or salmon, green vegetable and brown rice.

It is important to know that muscle building is not a process that takes place overnight. You will have to be patient enough to see positive results in the course of time. In other words results cannot come with the speed of a gale! On the other hand you should aim at performing your exercises on a regular basis and wait for the results to flow in. You will see muscle gain for certain in a month or two. The next step towards muscle growth is that you should be careful enough to see to it that you are not dehydrated during or after workouts. Hence it is always advisable that you carry with you some water during your stints at the local gym. Keep yourself hydrated since heavy workouts can keep you tired and dry.

A forced rep is yet another valid and effective step towards gaining the muscle. It is important that you should interact sufficiently with your physical trainer since he is the right person to enlighten you in this regard. Make sure that you follow these steps in order to gain muscle in the most optimal way.
