Chains are a lot of fun. You can use them for all your main lifts including OHP. Chains are great because they are a linear progression in terms of weight added to the bar as you perform the lift. Bands aren't linear but also beat your joints up a lot more. I find I can train with chains for longer periods of time than bands.

You can set the chains where they are completely off the floor and yes they will sway or you can still have a couple links on the floor at lockout. You can buy d-slings off amazon for your leaders and yes, like what has been said you can find chain in many different places. It's very difficult though to find anything over 1/2" chain unless you are near a shipyard or buy them online. I have several different chains, lighjt, med, heavy. They are a great way to build strength and add years to your lifting.
Right on ! Chains are delicate if that makes sense , the weight comes on gradually , steady and it doesn't fight back.

Heavy band work is fucking brutal , they tighten up fast and pull back like your hand fishing sharks , last set always has ya shaking like a dog trying to pass a peach pit.

I can't squat any more because of my spine situation but I still use bands on a leg press.:)

Thats my only way to work heavish squats these days , out of the hole its hard for me to get drive in my leg with the nerve roots fucked up in my spine moving 450 out with any purpose is hard so I box squat alot.

Straight weight 450/470 im done - I back down to 405 and add on some grey band and chains I'm around 680 at the top , lock out is still strong

Bands beat me the fuck up big time. Overloading the eccentric as Louie would say catapults you down. I like how chains aren't nearly as aggressive. I train chains for upper body as my shoulder is fucked and I use both for lower, squats & deads.
