Just curious where do you live? No need to state the state but area of the US. I admire the fact that you don't let this political shit bug you. I am at peace when I am in the Midwest so different out there. I live in the Carolina North state and it is so damn liberal everywhere I clinch my teeth at work it is so biased and should be illegal to torture us with all this left shit..DEI Trans and all that shit they have them come in to educate us. Every new person or promotion is a woman or person of color. It is torture to walk around even the plant they even have it posted on the site plan that they are behind on their DEI goal.
They even posted a 2025 plan and beyond to retire as many people they can and hire newly diverse employees.
Maybe they'll offer me a package for my 28 years of service. Not looking forward to another job I will never get hired as a 50 plus white straight male which is criminal in these times.
Hey MG,
I somewhat float between 3 states; My “resident” state, mostly for extortion (“tax”) purposes is Idaho. SoCal & NV (Vegas) being the others. That said, my demographics have me in regions of fervent party fanaticism — particularly the Idaho “MAGA” cult variety.

I really think the two extremes are magnified beyond their realities by the media. I think many more people are not buying into the extremes. I don't think nationalism i a terrible thing right now as long as the tenets of it are reasonable. I think any nation needs defined boarders, a sense of morals and virtue and a sense of unity. We have none of those right now although I sense a yearning for all three by I would claim the majority of the people. We have to stop bowling alone listening to the narratives created to divide us into a million shatters.
I tentatively agree with the general sentiment of your post. However, nationalism (though perhaps originally not intended to be) has been shaped into what I believe can best be described as bigoted and supremacist.

I tentatively just drank a bottle of wine after being sick for a month and not touching any of the vine for too long. I hope this is the cure.

If you want a historical perspective you can listen to Mathew Ehret. He is a Canadian and a good historian. He also has books. He and his wife Cynthia are a team and both very good. Both of their books are well referenced. He will give a perspective that goes beyond the political parties and reveals the underlying goals of the big power brokers throughout time. The more things change the more they stay the same. If your information providers can be verified through reading primary information then you have more confidence in what they relate to their audience. Suspect everybody. Read/listen but verify.
