I am going to bump this thread, this needs to keep going, also some new info on https://www.secure-email.org/ they now require a paid account. Here is the problem, my subscription ran out and they didnt notify me. I am on the prowl again for a new e-mail provider.

If you and your counterparty would simply use PGP, that would be the best option and it's free. Really, I think if you are interested in technology and security you have to familiarize yourself with PGP.

If you need a subscription service, go with Countermail. It's based in Sweden which has better privacy protection laws. With their service, you can pay with Bitcoin, set up the account anonymously, keep private keys in your possession, use an alias, and protect yourself from MITM attack with the USB stick sign on procedure
