*right glute pinching bad; shut it down

Lots of glute, hip, psoas and hamstring stretches before leaving.

These workouts are ****ing brutal! Not wanting to short change myself on the RPE has me really testing the waters and I'm straight wheezing between every set. Much of the time I can't get tight enough because of the panting, probably why my glute started pinching kinda bad near the end.

Got to bench with a new guy because the high school crowd was in full effect so we shared. Helped him with some stuff and he went from 290 x 5 @10 to 290 x 5 for two more sets, then 290 x 4 @10. "Bend the bar, eyes in line with the bar, push back towards your face..." Plus he's got gay wrist and he benches with a very narrow grip. We talked about it for a bit and he was eager to listen. He said he runs the Texas Method; I've seen him deadlift four plates and bench 3 so he's got some skills. Nice to have a spot and a lift off - that's why I went with the 275 on the last two sets. I would've undershot bad if I hadn't done that. Bench is still feeling good and the shoulder is holding up - no pain in the elbow either, plus I pressed with no wrist wraps today. Bench rest periods were short - just enough to swap weights and let dude get his set in.

I like the positioning I'm getting on my pulls also. I shut those down because I noticed my form go to shit on the last set. No hip thrust, legs locked out too early... So my "@9" observation was based on keeping good form. I could've kept pulling but fuxk that, right? I would rather keep hammering the good form as I climb back up the ladder than get back to the 600s using all lower back. @PillarofBalance : thoughts?

Continuing to see the weight loss trend while still hitting good caloric numbers daily. I can't wait to see where I'm at in June.

Videos are all ****ed up. Turns out when the phone screen touches inanimate objects it will cut off, or go slow motion, or switch to picture burst… Plus I had my son filming some of it - those are the ones that look like we’re suffering through an earthquake. I missed some of the paused deads and it was too annoying by the benches to film that shit. Hoping to bench Wednesday morning with my homie so we can get some footage of that. Heavy triples excite me.

@EastCoast1 How's the hip positioning looking in these deads?!

I am honestly impressed you can get yourself that far behind the bar. That's usually a challenge for you big guys.

I am fine with you accounting for technique in the rpe. Shitty reps are shitty.

Excellent to hear. Leverages will only improve from now on in regards to deadlifts. Gotta get that upper back stronger too so I can stay more rigid during the pull and tighter when squatting. #pause

You are a large human!
Thanks, but I am only concerned with squatting more than you. Size doesn't matter - Wifey told me so!

You should be in the gym with him. shit is insane just how far back he is. He is one of the only big dudes I have seen that actually looks like he squatting the bar off the floor.

Everything clicked today. Shoulder is a bit sore but I slept on it funny and will attribute it to that and not the pressing. I haven’t felt that good benching since last Summer - such a beautiful feeling. Engaged the lats and shit just felt great. I could tell on the reps where I slacked up on the grip that they didn't go up as fast. Then I would squeeze and bend that damn bar to get external rotation of my shoulders and BAM - it would be smooth as butter. Kinda floating right now…

Extra workout cut short because some one-eyed, meth-mouthed, Big Worm-lookin' asshole bumped into me. It was a tight space between the wall and the leg press machine, dude is probably 6'2" and about my size when I was my fattest, and as I stepped aside he broadened his shoulders to make contact with me. I looked up at him and he ice-grilled the shit outta me... I laughed. He made a big deal of me laughing AT him, lost his shit and was escorted out. Turns out he's a mental patient who came in with a group home. Threatened to kill me over and over in front of the whole weight room and had trainers holding him back while his handler stood in the corner with her jaw dropped. "Couldn't wait to go back to jail" was what he continuously told me. Put his ****ing finger to my eye daring me to laugh at him again. He even got close enough to touch my eye. I dropped my bag and put my hands behind my back and told him I wasn't gonna do shit. Can't risk it...

Unfortunately, this is the hole I've dug myself.

Can't find out which group home he's in because of privacy laws, can't have any supervisors notified because I don't know where he stays, don't wanna file a police report for a zillion reasons... Fuxking ridiculous how this type of shit happens to me.

Here's the lesson:
Should've not laughed at the eye-patch guy for being a complete dick.

Plus side: weighed in at under 290 lbs this morning.

I try and weigh in daily because I'm a stat addict, I like viewing trends and it has given me a better idea of how far bad dietary decisions set me back.

Stayed under 290 for two days and decided to evaluate my experience with CarbNite so far.

My downfall is social drinking and pizza eating. I could graze on lager and pies all damn day.

The info below is pretty eye-opening. I've stopped drinking during the week and have only been jovially over-inebriated twice since New Years. I've impressed myself and bored my neighbors haha.

Started this shit the Monday after New Years because I'm just like every other douchebag Resolutionist...
