Eddie Hall broke the 500 kg barrier at the World Deadlift Championships .

Incredible day today for strength sports

What's also crazy is that 3 guys pulled 465kg (1026lbs or thereabouts) before this epic pull.
1,000 seems to be the new standard.
Which is insane... Didn't think I'd ever see that day come.
I remember my dad talking about the 500 pound bench press and how no one could ever do more. Then came the 70's and the new standard 600 lb. bench. Now if you don't push at least 700 no one cares...lol The day of the raw 800 will happen within the next 4-5 years, mark my words. Set by some freak of nature but once broken it too will be the new standard. I think we will see the day in our life times where 1,100+ dead, 1,100= squat and 800+ bench are expected to even be considered top 10.
It's strange because there are kids in high school these days benching over 400. There a few guys at my local gym squatting 600+ regularly and they aren't even power lifters. All 4 gyms within 15 miles of me have a 500+ pound bencher some of them 2-3. Hell one local guy I used to train jiu-jitsu with did 505 for 6 at the time.
Just casually pulling more kilos then a George Jung delivery.
