Bodybuilder Daniela O’Mara is set for a tough battle in Dallas.
EAST Perth fitness fanatic Daniela O’Mara is moving up in the world of bodybuilding.
The Slovakian-born personal trainer together with her husband Michael run a personal training centre.
She is the highest ranked IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding) National Fitness Champion representing Australia in world-class competitions.
But next week she will take part in one of the biggest bodybuilding competitions in the world.
She was placed fourth in the Arnold Classic in Ohio, becoming the highest placed Australian at this event.
Because of her high placing she was awarded a “Pro Card” and joined the IFBB Professional League last month, which allows her to compete in the IFBB Pro Fitness contest in Dallas, Texas on August 13-14.
Since the age of six, she has taken part in gymnastics and ballet and other forms of fitness.
She was a professional dancer with the Slovak Musical Theatre Company but after moving to Australia in 1999 she has taken bodybuilding very seriously.
“It’s a full-time job, training and preparing for competitions and it is very expensive also,” Daniela said.
“But I am very excited about this competition; it’s a great thrill and I will be competing against many other girls who are just as competitive.”
If Daniela finishes in the top three of this competition she will qualify for the Ms Olympia, the most prestigious bodybuilding event in the world.
