I'm simply curious about what others think/prefer.
I am an oldschool 4 day split guy myself.
Just a little research for my own curiosity.

I think you can get stronger on a simple 2-day split and you can stagnate on a 5-day split. Personally, I like a 3 day split for strength. If I have extra time I'll up it to a 4 day split but I don't think it's must to get stronger.
