I'm likely looking at a bulging disc in my L4 and L5. Been dealing with insurance and just trying to get into so someone for a month and half. My primary care doctor and anyone who seems to know much has told me to push for injections in lieu of surgery. My buddy gets an epidural once or twice a year and is good. Just waiting to get the official diagnosis once I get the MRI. Never in a million years did I think I would be dealing with back issues.

TOS!
got a cortizone shot in my shoulder earlier this year (march i think), it was a temporary solution. How temporary is based upon the person and how it works in their body. I think mine lasted about a month i think.
Yeah, I don't expect the cortisone shot to cure old. I'm just hoping it gives me an opportunity to schedule surgery on my time.

Got my MRI back and it's what I thought. Labrum tear and small tear in the supraspinatus.

I have already modified my chest work and never do anything overhead. I'm going to see what the DR says but the plan is to limp it out, get another shot around March and go under the knife in late August.

Fuuk old!

Saw the Ortho last night. We both agreed there's no reason to scope it at this point. He feels the discomfort is coming from the slight tear in the supraspinatus at the humerus. Since it's in the tendon, it will take a long time to heal, about 2-3 months. I modified my chest work and I'm mindful of lifting that arm overhead.

Plan is to get another shot in March if it's not 100% and be beach ready in June for vacation.

I'd op for PRP, GH inj in the site and BPC-157 vs another cortisone shot. Cortisone may control the inflammation but will further weaken what's left over time. Just my two cents.

You're on point there. That's the reason I would wait 4-5 months for the second shot.

Doc did mention Plasma shots but said it's not covered by insurance.

It appears im on an every six month rotation. lol. They advertise PRP but are resistant when I suggest they perform it on my elbows. This area sucks for bleeding edge practices. After two years I need something more than the tricinolone acetenoid.
Plus I’ve never seen a Dr bend a needle in my arm as he gives the injections. Anyone ever see that?

OH no man.
Well sounds like you got a good plan for the near term and long term.
I found out mine was torn earlier this year and i limped on it and got it fixed in fall. I tried to work out on it as much as i could, but finally had to quit upper body al together. But hey, we are all different.
In my profession, i'm a keyboard manager, so just have to sit and type lol, so i could go back to work sooner.
Look into PRP , GH, BPC 157, etc. These might get you by as well.
Just hope you don't tear it any further, that is the only fear there.

I called the insurance company because the doctor said the PRP may not be covered. Then the insurance company tells me they need a code. Now I'm in the rope-a-dope

From what he's told me, there's always a chance of it tearing but he said it's highly unlikely. I'm doing some things to modify my workout to take the stress off of it

I seriously thought I was going down the same road as you.

Not sure about elbows, but I've watched a couple in my shoulder and a few in my Wife's shoulders.
In every case a Doctor may have prescribed it, but a P.A. or R.N. administered it, no bend, no muss, no fuss.

Might be that M.D.s learn to delegate 1 day after Med school and lose "the touch" by Day 2?
