I had both hips shot up at Christmas and it did make a difference. Taking 10 days off from the gym next week so I figured getting it done again while I rest up would be a good idea. The shots not too bad at all, you mostly feel the pressure when the oil goes in but damn that night will suck to sleep. If I recall, it's bad for 2 days but on day 5, you should feel like a new man.

Anyone here have any experience with a hip bursa shot?

I've had cortisone shots in my hips and the one thing I really remember is how long and thick the pin was. It was at least 6" long and prob. 18 gauge. I needed hip replacements so the shots didn't do much if anything. I've also had them in my hands for trigger finger which has since healed combined with curcumin. I was having horrible pain in my hands so I am a firm believer that cortisone shots do have the ability to heal. Recently had one in my shoulder, ex-ray showed bone on bone due to arthritis with a bone spur. Dr recommended shoulder replacement which I declined for now. The shot seems to have really helped so far.

I have had similar shots in my SI joints. It is not bad at all. It helped me for about 90 days. I have had lasting relief by reducing axial load on my hips by cutting squat and dead weights in half and just repping. Also PT exercises that strengthen those sacroiliac muscles and ligaments.

I hope you get 100% pain free bro.

I had one done almost 10 years ago. Could use another.

Younger, dumber me went out and refereed a college football game the next day. And of course because of Murphy's Law, in my former 15 year reffing career - it was the only game where I was ever taken out on the sideline. I went ass over teakettle and landed directly on the hip that was just shot up. Only way to describe it was my hip was an empty beer bottle, and when I hit the ground - it shattered.

Other then that - it was great. i was like a new man again up until a year or so ago whent the pains been creeping back.
