Nothing complicated, no special tools or chemicals. After a shower they change into a whole different animal, get all white and soft, easy to remove with fingernail surgery. Usually this removes only about 90% of the callous, from the center out, and leaves a little bit of the outer edge. Not perfect for cosmetic appeal, but the part of the callous that would have yanked off the next time I did heavy pulling movements is gone.

A Ped Egg will get rid of them at once. You basically sand them down like you do cheese in a grater. The downside, though, is that once your hands are nice and smooth when you go back to the gym your hands will get torn up. The calluses protect your hands. If you use this, just do it a little bit. Don't completely get rid of them.
