In 1971, Arnold Schwarzenegger won the Mr. Olympia crown - unopposed - and took home a prize of $1,000:

This year's Mr. Olympia Samson Dauda took home to his wife an oversized check for $600,000, and don't be surprised if that purse gets topped in the 2025 Arnold Classic:

Some people were disappointed with the way the IFBB administered and presented the 2024 Mr. Olympia - saying there were too many athletes, poor lighting and overall poor organization. I was not there so I cannot speak to that, but I can say I hope what they presented in Las Vegas was more organized than what they present on the Web.

I think some big changes are about to happen in professional bodybuilding. And I think Arnold thinks so too, and might actually be driving them.

I agree with you. I am curious what they may do for the near future. I feel that they have been wanting change for a while and have made some slight changes to push the initiative. We will see how it turns out before long.

If you want to make a decent living, bodybuilding is not for you. Plus you may not live long enough to see your social security.

Nothing is ever on time at the Olympia.

The IFBB does not put on the Olympia, this is Jake Wood's promotion just as it was Weider's before, and all the other promoters of contests.

Regarding the lighting and backdrop adds & screen images, Dan Solomon himself said in the VIP tour that bodybuilding is boring so "it's about the production" So what he really said was, screw the athletes, we're here to pat ourselves on the back and make money.

And in addition, do not believe the bullcrap of "the results are in from ticket sales and the PPV and we have increased the prize money to...$600k & $250K"The Olympia is under pressure of becoming a #2 event with the Arnold increasing the prize money and Dubai as well, and I guess throw Pittsburgh in there too.
