Anyone here dip or has dipped? I really want to quit as it gives me a buzz but the sides are terrible when it wears off.
I usually dip three times a day on the weekend once a day on the way to work. I usually crave it in the morning but the other 2 times I do it it really has less effect and got to bed with numb sore gums. I tried sunflower seeds and candy etc to no avail.

Have you tried the pouches? You can step down the nicotine over time.
that being said, nicotine has a long tradition in bb. It’s an anorectic and stimulant

I am not the best response here since I don’t use it, but the few people I know switched to the gum and then quit. They always say they still crave it no matter how many years it’s been.

I haven’t had Copenhagen in well over a decade. Used to go through about a can a day. Once my gums started receding I couldn’t handle it anymore.

I had an employee ask me how long it took to quit thinking about it. It became an inside joke because my response was always, “yesterday.” Then my mouth would start watering (as it is right now as I type.).

I see a lot of bodybuilders using those Zyn pouches. You can get them in different mg strengths, which may help people cycle off.

Man, I LOVE Copenhagen (long cut). I haven't used in a few years now (4?). I had stopped for many years prior to that as well....it seems like every 5-10 years I get a hair in my ass to buy a can, lol. At night is awesome, or i'd just hop in my car and go for a drive. I couldn't afford the gas these days to do that, and how much are the cans now? Like $10? Shit is stupid expensive now:(

I try to sway away from it now that my gums have started to recede. I can handle a can here and there for a few weeks maybe, but i'm glad when I stop buying it too, lol.

There is a thread over at ProM too, lol!

I've got fresh gums. Sounds like I just found a new rewarding habit.

Of all the bigtime sports I morphed through as a young fanboy, MLB was my 1st, and my least recent. That said, I always liked the good guys from any sport who excelled to HOF status without adding the trashy behavior so common today from celebrities ... sports or otherwise. Bonus points for the rare ones who spent their entire careers with the same team, without scandals about alcohol, drugs, wife abuse, etc.

Tony Gwynn (1960-2014), San Diego Padres Star, was such a Man. His death came from Parotoid (salivary) Gland Cancer, widely attributed to his known addiction to dipping, which included accounts of him sneaking out at night to keep his buys hidden from his Wife.

I'd be careful with that, two friends developed oral cancer from it. Survived but the treatment and long term sides were nasty.

I wouldn't if i were you...it can be addicting (obviously), but it is a nasty and expensive 'habit.' See Wilson6's post above, it can be harsh and fatal for many long-term users.

I set it down just over 10 years ago. I dipped most of my adult life, some of my younger years as well. I set it down and never picked it up again. I do still crave it occasionally when I see someone dip. There is no good answer, you just have to find something that helps and tough it out. Willpower is what it is at the end bro. A lot of good suggestions here but its like the diet, you have to force it.

I dipped a can a day for 20 years. Put it down 5-6 years ago. Been on the zyn ever since.
