Does anyone wear a belt for DLs? I've been getting more serious with DLs, a lot of singles, doubles and triples, and was thinking I should get a belt? I've tried it before and it felt like it was moving between lowering down and coming up, couldn't get used to it. Thinking of getting this bad boy, thoughts?

I like lever belts but that one is good.

Belts help with power and explosiveness when used correct.

Also the belt moving around on you are due to 2 things:

1. Either too loose
2. Most common too low

If I have it tight but too low when I go for the bar it slides on me, I wear it higher then other lifts when pulling.

Yes, I belt up for heavy deads and squats. I wear a 10mm Lever. Single prong works well too.

I use the Rogue Ohio Belt. Love it but I've never tried a lever belt so I don't know how they compare.

I have a lever belt and started wearing it for deads a few months ago. It helps me to belly breath and push out which helps my pull.

That looks like a decent belt. 4" wide and 10 mm is about right.

I have a lever for squats but I prefer my old dual prong for deads.

I think most wear their belt higher when pulling then when squatting. I also wear my belt tighter when I'm squatting than when I'm pulling.

Wear a belt, but don't form a dependancy. Belts and wraps should be a tool, not a crutch.

I love my lever belt. I've had single and double prongs up until I got this lever belt 6 months ago. I love it!

I think depends on you . If you compete or do Olympic or powerlifting do wear belt on heavy lifts.
In 1995 I had my lower spine reconstruction, never wear a belt since . Yet I squat deadlift ect heavier than I ever have . Part of my recovery of surgery I made my body into a belt by making my erector spinea and transverse abdominus, stronger and powerful though exercise . I do heavy rows now with no belt too. Your whole body has these little support muscles responsible for hinging the larger . A weakness creates imbalances and belts enable this weakness to get worse . Your body's only as strong as its weakest part
