Mike is right on the money. Becareful what info you disclose. A lot of you seem so sure everything is "off the record." Unless you've seen the same medical charts that any medical personal can see, don't trust what you hear. In this day and age healthcare workers are worried about getting sued or taken to court and/or losing license. If there is something disclosed by you that affects your trmt and care don't be surprised if its documented.

Everything that goes on your record is what is input or recorded right there in front of you. So if you're Doc is writing it down or typing it into his laptop it's going on your record. Specialists in a trauma type situation do a full write up of what they discovered from investigation and what you or family told them.
It's as simple as asking the Doc..'Can we talk off the record'' not rocket science guys. If they say no you have a weird, jerk of a doc, find another one, wh ywould you stay with him?
Ask your Docs if they like this new system, I bet you'll get a big no from most. Besides they aint cops

You guys do know those records are yours and you can ask for a copy any time, so you can check ?

Like POB said, most plans have narcotic and alcohol abuse treatments.. I've never heard of anyone getting kicked off and mine, insurance and doc, know about me.
