Ok, I need a new grill, what are your suggestions. I saw the Weber Genesis E310 on sale at Sears for $400ish in crap brown but who cares about the color.

Don't want to spend more then $500.

i strongly recommend getting something in stainless steel... and GAS... I love Charcoal more than most... but the convenience of gas is unparalleled and the taste is still excellent.

I can't remember the brand name I have but it has been running strong for the last 5 years and the only true wear is on the burners... and those are going to burn out eventually no matter what...

Just remember man rule #178: When grilling it is required that one cold beer be present and in use at all times while the grill is in use!

I'm going with gas, charcoal has better flavor but is a pain in the ass to use as often as I do.

Just remember if you are buying a stainless steel grill, do the magnet test. A magnet will not stick to legitimate stainless steel, whereas the knockoff cheap grill that claim to be stainless will have so much run of the mill metal in them that they attract magnets like flies to shit.
A great brand for a decent (not great) price, is DuCane. But there are other cheaper stainless steel grills that will pass the magnet test.

Stainless is the way to go. You can argue charcoal and gas in both directions.
One is convenience and the other is a flavor but time consuming.

Exactly why i have both. i use gas exclusively during winter. during the heat, i do both. cant slow cook on a gas tho.....nothing like some ribs or a turkey cooked over indirect heat using charcoal...mmmmmmm......... 11251_1264006476721_1126501861_869259_7114709_n.jpg

I'm on the same boat as goldy, both for me. I have a Char-grill with an indirect smoker on one side and propane grill on the other. Love it and works good.

I have an infrared TEC but it was quite the cost. I'd get a cheap gas grill if its just to kick around, or find a sale on a Weber.

Electric smoker with wet sawdust in a ceramic bowl in the bottom. I understand the need and desire for chargrilling, but when you say BBQ, talk BBQ, not grilling.

I'm a bit of a BBQ snob.
