There is a percentage of Republicans who are military and small government conservatives and want normalcy, decorum, respectful norms and stability. Schwarzenegger is out of touch with the Trump movement who are more akin to anarchists than conservatives. Old school conservatives wanted first and foremost to have stability. Trump supporters are more likely to want chaotic change like leftist anarchists do. The typical stability and decorum type classic conservatives like Reagan and Schwarzenegger will be gone for a while.

These are the same people who voted 20% for Hailey even after she had dropped out. That was their protest vote. The fact that 20% of Republicans would vote for Hailey after Trump dropped out was a huge red flag for Trump. Probably some these people will suck it up and vote for Trump. But many will vote Kamala.

The mind blowing thing is that Trump could have won easily... All he had to do is shut is big fat New York loud mouth and stop berating and belittling people. Why does Trump need to act like such a colossal fucking asshole?

Neither party really evidenced a strong desire to win the election through its choice of candidates. It’s almost as if “winning the election” is secondary to “forcing a particular candidate” onto the rest of the party, even if another unchosen candidate would have much more central appeal and much better chances of winning the election itself.

It’s a shame really. And the great masses in the middle, who are repulsed by both sides, are the great losers.
