What's New?

Are you worried about elevated Hemoglobin and Hematocrit due to Testosterone usage?

Please post up if this is something you are worried about. Something your PCP warns you about that will cause strokes and heart attacks if not treated. Something that forces you to donate pints of blood no matte how bad you do not want to. Once I have some feedback I will provide my reasons for this.

I donate blood at least once during a cycle.. Last time hemploglobin was at 15 prior to doing so... I think with some compounds it makes a lot of sense like Eq...

A year ago I had a bloodtest that showed my Hematocrit level was above 50. I was a little concerned and did some reading. Not sure why it was elevated either. No explanation nor follow up was offered. Funny...I was enrolled in a research group for TRT at the time. I tested for low T's. A month into the program did a retest with no supplements. My T levels were elevated from the baseline we established! My Hematocrit levels were elevated as well. They asked if I took any meds..which I had not. They released me from the program. I am still wondering why as it wasn't a significant increase. I was still low. Adding to the fact that I was tested low 1 year before that!

Anyway..am curious to see what information you have to share.

I have elevated levels. They wanted to send me to a specialist for more tests, which I declined to take. So I guess I am not all that worried about it.

Not worried at all. I welcome it! I spend many months out of the year racing with HGB levels around 20. Constantly supervised and measured. I perform and feel better. Everything returns to normal ranges with no negative sides in the offseason. The only reason I would worry about HGB/HCT levels, is if you're planning on running any powerful diuretics at the same time.

My last test came back normal after an 8 month blast that included EQ, deca, tren, and 900mg test. I take plenty of sups including aspirin ed and eat right.

My dr recently sent me for blood letting with a hematocrit level of 56. I think i may have an idea where he may be going with this. After some thought look at Floyd Landis. He lost his TDF title because they said he was doping. His claim was an atmospheric chamber that tricked his body into thinking he was at a higher elevation. When one does this, your body will create more red blood cells to deal with the depleted oxygen levels. Why else do you think that the US Olympic training facility is in Denver, the Mile High City? This prompts our Olympic athletes' bodies to produce more red blood cells which in turn allows for better cardiovascular endurance at lower altitudes and more easily sustainable high O2 saturations. If they are doing it and it is ok then why is it bad for us? Is that what you are getting at?

you are correct about elevation affecting hemoglobin/hematocrit. That is not what im getting at though. Anyone who is dehydrated, lives at an elevation above 5k feet, smokes, etc will all have elevated. Sherpas average an hemoglobin of 23 an they are not dead. keep it coming. Whos going to die here from elevated hemoglobin or fall to a stroke from being on hormone therapy. id be willing to bet 95% of your PCP's have told you this one time or another. Shit I even did the blood donation crap.....sorry im gonna leave you hanging a little bit longer. I need a nap. ill be back this evening with the medical backed answer.
