Shit, man. Got me remembering mine while I laid on the floor with her while they injected her. I kept holding her until she went cold, crying. I made so many mistakes and regret so much.
Yeah, sorry man. That sounds awful. I have some regrets with another animal myself that I will never forgive myself. Sucks.

And, I'm loving it.

A fella named Jin on another board got all wordilicious once in one of his posts. My reply asked him if being pedantic meant a person liked little boys.

He was not loving that at all

Postal worker? A swear most postal workers hate dogs. I guess I might too if I was always getting barked at and chased by them all day too. Lmao. I actually never liked dogs growing up. The always smelled bad and wanted to lick your face. I grew up with cats. My wife loved dogs and we finally got one. A Boston Terrier. Fucking best dogs! Not that I have any way to compare. Lol. But yep, I’m a convert! Now I see a dog and I’m all over them. I like dogs better than most people. Makes me sad and angry when they aren’t treated right. Not sure I would like a dog in the gym. Haven’t seen that yet. I know it would make me late for work if there was. Lol. We are on our second dog now. First one died just before Covid started. That was a bad bad year! Still miss that guy. We got our second dog(mutt) a couple years before first one died. I swear he lived longer because of getting a second dog. Gave him more energy and just seemed happier. We had to put him down because his seizures wouldn’t stop. Had them his whole life. They were awful but would only happen maybe 2 or three times a year with medication. The veterinarians were so nice. It was so heartbreaking. We had a feeling it was the end so the whole family went. Kinda crazy that we were all home at the time too. They medicated him when we got there and gave them all they had and the seizures still weren’t stopping. Usually the seizures would come in threes. As he got older they started doing that. First it was only one. Then it would be two and then three at a time. About 20min apart. Scared the yell out of us the first time he had a second one or a third one. But we came to expect another one after the first. Well he had like 10 before we even got to the vets. One in the car on the way too. We gave him ice cream and said goodbye. He knew too! Usually he is so out of it after a seizure. Doesn’t even recognize us. He will have no idea where he is and not there mentally. What was so insane was he was there, mentally. And he started giving us all kisses because he knew. He not only recognized us but knew it was goodbye. It was so crazy when I think about it. It was one of the saddest days of our lives. He fell asleep in my wife’s arms. And that’s when the tears really started flowing. Dam. That sucked! Sorry for the downer but it just amazes me how we are all connected and even with animals.

My wife is a bartender and people are allowed to bring in the dogs there. She loves it. She keeps treats in a jar behind the bar for them. When a dog comes in it’s like the highlight of her day. I hear all about it. Lol. The patrons love it too. I love it when I go into a customers home and they have a dog or dogs. I say, “are you gonna be my helper today?” I have a lot of furry helpers now. Lol.
I don't hate dogs. I have had several over the years.

My issue is when I see people bringing them inside "people" places. I never let my own dogs around my table at home. No way am I going to be around someone else' dog while I am trying to eat.

The issue I have with dogs in stores is that it is a rare occasion that those dogs aren't trying to sniff or bark as someone while they are there. Don't get me wrong, I understand that this is what dogs do but not everyone wants to be bothered with your pet. I worked retail many years ago, when this service animal horseshit started and people would bring in the untrained mutts(with the amazon purchased service animal vest) in the store that would bark and piss on shit while they walked the store. Obviously not a service animal but the store was forced by the government to let it stay. Guess who cleaned up the shit and piss and also listened to the complaints from customers about the barking? THIS GUY...

I know that not all dogs are untrained. Hell, most are trained and fun as hell to be around. It is that smaller percentage that makes it irritating for me.

Like homosexuals, 99% are cool and great people then you have the purple hair, flamboyant, assless chap, flag waving, overly gay, gaaays. Keep them at home. Ruins it for everybody lol

For about $40 I got one of those "Service" dog harnesses. Works fine and no one asks. I just pull up to the restaurant, park in the H.C. space because I have a H.C. rear view mirror tag that I took out of some old woman's car that was unlocked and then I go right in. I even walk to the front of the line with a bit of a limp and no one says anything mostly because I were a U.S. Veteran hat.
You definitely got me with this! I’m glad I read your next post before I replied. I was gonna say you’re a piece of work buddy! Stole an old ladies handicap sign! Lmfao. We all want to do it!

If I was an employee in a store in a state w/ laws that you can not even ask the dog owner if the dog is a service animal, I would explain to the complaining customer what the law is and tell them to voice there frustration to the dog owner. Maybe get a gang of pissed off customers to get the dog owner to leave and never come back with there 'service' dog. Not sure what the law is in my state, I rarely see dogs in any stores, and never at the gym. I would think the law would state that before the dog owner can enter with a service dog they must show some sort of proof and clean up any mess the dog makes. I think it's funny that a person needs to pick up dog shit if there dog shits out side but it's OK to leave it there inside a public facility.

That's the thing, the law won't let you even ask for proof. In fact, it is unlawful and a company can be cited and fined if they ask. It is Federal and not something that a state can amend.

Also, there are no laws that give a business owner criminal precedent to force a dog owner to clean up their pet's urine or feces. This goes for indoor as well as outdoor.

Their only course of action would be to file a civil suit for damages ranging from having to pay for an employee to clean it up to paying for damages to property. However, it is illegal for a human to drop their pants and shit or piss in public and they can be arrested.

With the way animals are being protected and how much animals rights have been advanced to almost human status and even above to a degree, can you imagine the negative publicity from animal activist if a "big bad corporation" sued a "poor innocent puppy owner"? Hell, they even call the dog pound the "Humane Society". Literally the act of being human lol.

In the words of word salad Mike Tyson, this is ludacris.

I did the same with my last dog until they made me leave. That was 2016 and I've never been able to get another dog since. I was raised around all kinds of animals, Midwest farm boy. I've had many dogs, & cats (even thought I don't like cats because on a farm they are allover the dang place and wild). Raised fox, raccoons that had been abandoned or momma were killed and folks brought them to me to help. Which is ironic since I was also a trapper.

These days I live vicariously through my daughters and their countless pets.

Only $10 a month! My wife started going there and I have been training her after work. There’s usually a decent amount of pussy honestly.
I'd get nothing done in a place like that.
