The combo has really helped with liver values which were high normal and now right in the middle range. Helps the body make glutathione through the body's own enzymes. It is very potent at reducing oxidative stress. Is considered an anti aging supp combo many times called glynac. It is way cheaper to buy them separately and take them that way. I think it really shines when the body does have a lot of oxidative stress, metabolism from lifting heavy things, metabolism of lots of calories, 17aa gear, solvents in oils ect. cause oxidative stress.
I also read glutathione has an affinity for metal ions which helps the body remove heavy metals such as lead and mercury.

Benefits as listed on the interwebs

  • Optimising mitochondrial function
  • Reducing oxidative stress via glutathione production
  • Reducing insulin resistance and type II diabetes risk
  • Limiting and reducing gene damage and toxicity
  • Improving cognitive function and addressing the symptoms of depression
  • Enhancing heart health
  • Expanding both life span and health span
  • Limiting the progression of age-related diseases and physical and cognitive decline
I have been taking it for over a year at 1 gram NAC and 3 grams glycine ED first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
I post this because I just feel better. My skin looks better, I perform better. It is hard to say if it is 100% this combo, but I do feel it helps as I ran out and was off for a month or so, Went back on and I felt the subtle benefits again if I thought about it.

I need to look into this. I just got my bloodwork back, and both AST and ALT were out of range. I'm sure the doc is going to tell me to ditch the var/winny/tbol and alcohol.

Silly doc.

I've been taking both for about a week or two now. I had some NAC on hand for about 2 years now, but just started taking it. I started taking glycine over the past 2 months just to see if it helped on sleep at all. Hard to say. I'm almost out of glycine, so I will see how I feel without it and how my sleep is effected, if any, afterward. If so, i'll get more from True Nutrition. It's a sweet crystalline I just take a teaspoon (~5g) by mouth and chase it with crystal light. I was taking it with my melatonin as well.

Been taking NAC for a long time. When I use any orals, I drop the NAC and just inject 200 mg of glutathione 3x a week. The only time my enzymes have been out of range is when I train legs the day or two prior to labs.

How are you dosing NAC?

And is that dose taken 1x/day, or multiple times per day?

I've been taking NAC for years. Haven't included Glycine though, so I may pick some of that up and add it to the regimen.

I've read that NAC can has chelation properties, and that long term use can lead to iron, zinc and other metal/mineral deficiencies. Do people take NAC for long term use, or is used during/immediately after running orals?
