First off, TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) is supplementing enough testosterone to eliminate the symptoms of low T. Now, does the use of TRT as intended help healing after surgery? Absolutely.Trying to see what everybody’s thoughts are on the subject or TRT. Is TRT considered a high dose? Wondering who has taken TRT after any kind of tendon therapy. If so what were the pros and cons? Is it bad is good and should you Wait a specific time post surgery to begin again. Thank you

So is staying on TRT before and post-surgery going to be advantageous to the healing process? Absolutely! Since testosterone is involved protein synthesis and new tissue formation, having low serum testosterone would be detrimental post-surgery.
I on on week 14 of total shoulder replacement. Stayed on my normal TRT before and after surgery. I also added HGH and IGF-1 immediately post surgery. The typical release to full activity time is 4-6 months. I started back lifting weights the 3rd week out of surgery and at week 8 (2 months) started back doing 20 sets of each muscle group going 3 days a week. At week 14 I am 3/4 of the way to having the same strength in the replaced shoulder as the good shoulder. I am getting ready to turn 69. I quit physical therapy at week 6 and my surgeon refuses to acknowledge I am so far ahead. Of course this is not how a normal 69 year old heals but even at this age with TRT, HGH and IGF-1, I am able to heal up at the same speed as someone quite a bit younger than me. My serum testosterone level on average is about 880.
