@jay_victor you seem to have your mind made up, but in my opinion you dont belong anywhere near running a cycle. IF your hormones are legitimately low, then by all means get treatment.

BUT you my friend need to learn to eat and train and live a lifestyle to support the new found mass you want on your frame. Jumping on a cycle (besides just setting yourself up for injury) you are likely to gain strength and size that you just wont be able to hold. In all likelihood, since you are essentially at a newb starting point (gains wise) if you got your lifestyle, diet and training in check, your natural gains would rival even a mild cycle at this point. No need to rely on excess test as you are setting yourself up for failure.

Just an opinion, but it sounds like you have already made your mind up. Check back in 3 years and see where you are at. By all means prove me wrong. Good luck!

Hello Jay,
I would caution putting the cart before the horse... if you are trying to build muscle the very last thing I would do is eat like you are doing. Training is the stimulus but you need bricks to build a house.

Thanks again for taking the time macgyver, I honestly appreciate it more than you realise.

At this point, I respectfully put on hold any quotation of sources or arguments from myself, and would rather report back on progress and results. I feel uncomfortable being the guy who has proved nothing trying to justify my reasoning. But there is reasoning. I promise to share all the details about me and all the research as I go along.

I don't plan to wait 3 years to check back so you won't have to wait that long to see if you were right. I welcome the questioning, so n

Thanks for the advice BigWill. If my latest attempt to move forward fails, I will have to eat humble pie and do things by the book.
I am a stubborn kind of person, who at this stage is unwilling to give up my lifestyle of 16:8 fasting. Right now, it is just as important to me as getting fit. We'll see if it's possible to do both.

Again, there is some theory out there behind what I'm doing, and I will post here from time to time about where the ideas and research came from as I go along. One last thing to say again. I am not aiming for big, but just to not be the skinny guy with zero traps and a gut :D

Second day of new program today. 6AM starts and it feels so good. I'm making a commitment to myself again - no booze until I have the 6 pack. If I have a vain shallow side, might as well use it to help with the health.

Just getting back after 2 months off the weights. No booze and clean diets for a week now, already lost a pound or two. Getting back on the creatine and one week into my testogel. I've sent off for the blood test as part of applying to get on the Sustanon 250, so will have the numbers on that before long.

So starting a bit de-loaded on the power rack. Squats, bench and barbell rows today. Feels good, no aches or pains. My one exception to the 16:8 protocol is to have post workout whey.

Will start posting progress numbers again when I get back to the numbers I left off with last year.

In the end, people are going to do what they want. You're looking at T or any other supp as a shortcut to get you what it is that you desire. What you need is the will and desire to work and actually work hard to achieve your goals. You can run everything under the sun but you'll only be leasing your muscle without the option to buy.

Hopefully, in time you'll realize that supp's are just that... supplementing what you should be already doing correctly, ie. sleeping, eating, training, resting, etc. Without those things in place you're going to fall flat.

You were talking higher than TRT doses.

I mentioned TRT risks because that's what you raised in your question:

You've researched Testosterone Replacement right? You are aware of the side effects, some of which are harmful if they get out of control?

But it's true, I don't know how much the risks go up from 100 to 200 or 400. But I have a pretty good idea from reading well on it I think. On the one hand there are articles everywhere saying there's an epidemic in the UK and US of steroid abuse. But when someone actually dies or makes themselves badly ill, if you dig, it's normally people who took things to extremes. I personally feel the risks are not that crazy in the lower end.

I appreciate your input and concern, honestly. For now I'll keep going and I promise in due course I'll answer your points with more of the information and thinking. I just want to get on with it now and if and when I get results my way I'll have some evidence I know what I'm doing. If not I'll do it your way and I'll admit you were right. Either way I won't be falling flat because desire and will are no problem. If you stick around you'll find out I'm coming from way back down the pack to get even to this point.

Yeah, that's me and my meandering train of thought. But higher will have more sides than lower. And orals will be tons more, but you didn't mention those. Really comes down to monitoring with blood work and knowing the possible downsides.

Yeah I will never say never but I can't imagine stacking at this stage. No rush for mass here. Just tired of looking like an overweight 12 year old. Definitely no orals. Same goes for my wife sadly. I see myself not going beyond high natural levels of blood T for any sustained period. That way I hope to avoid any massively elevated risk of sides.

Bodyweight stuff this morning. First time since my lay off (3 months). Lost nearly all strength, as usual. Always lose upper body strength much more than legs in my case.

3 sets each of incline press ups, band assisted pull ups and body weight dips

I actually think your posts are well-thought-out and you have conveyed a good deal of logic and reason for taking supplemental testosterone. In anyone's situation, I would continue to learn as much as possible through research and experiential learning while administering what's considered a TRT-like weekly dosage.

I get your sense of urgency, given your age, but ensure you take things slowly enough that you don't incur injuries due to rapid strength gains and/or aggression/ego in the gym. You sound well-grounded, but I thought the warning was worth mentioning.

I agree that you should get bloodwork if your finances allow, as you can then have objective measurements to work from as opposed to only feel/looks.

The people here have a wealth of knowledge if you're looking for feedback on your training regimen and diet. Take it to heart and continue to progress. Slow and steady will suit you just fine, and I think you'll be much happier with your physical and mental health in no time.

Good luck.

Maybe start a training log here if you haven't already. I guess this thread is in that forum anyway.

I haven't stopped learning and soaking up all the info since joining TID. This is a great place to share the journey, all comments welcome critical or not. If I have learned one thing over the past few years it's how to do the big lifts without injuring myself, and it's been learned the hard way. Blood test kit is with me now.

Thanks for the encouragement, it helps.

Yeah, this was going to be a log, but it's week 1 and I'm starting slow. I will share that this morning I could only manage 5+3+2 dips, and this is after getting to 3x10 just 2-3 months ago. I'm sure this is unusual how fast I lose upper body strength.

I will probably post weekly summaries to this log so it is more readable
