You use your core abs for just about every exercise you do, so I would not do every day. Once a week is plenty. Also if your bodybuilder you don’t want to get boxie look, but more V shaped.

No, but I do the plank every day. 30-second planks with different variations. It makes more sense than standing in the plank for 5 minutes. I am happy with the results so far.
Look at it like this? Why train abs once a week for a half hour? Why not train them every time for 10 minutes? Works for me. Never looked good treating abs like any other body part.
