Any updates on this young man.
Like Chris said, he passed in July......
Connor spent the last few weeks of his life surrounded by Relentless lifters and supporters who were driving and flying in to visit with him..... I'm talking people coming to Detroit from California, Arizona, etc... not just local guys.
Unpublicized is how rough Connor's home life was, and I'll leave it that way, but it was a few Relentless supporters who helped get him to his last year or so of doctors visits, got him set up for the most badass prom he could have ever dreamed of with a mustang borrowed from a Relentless family and a horse drawn carriage for his date ( who is a saint for not being scared off from getting involved knowing how it was going to end), where he was crowned prom king.
Relentless guys were driving up from way down south to hang out and pitch in to make sure that he had groceries and enough to eat....... now, none of that was paid for by Relentless. That's all the Relentless lifters paying out of their pockets to make sure that Connor got to live like a boss, because he deserved to.
Even as he was literally in his final hours Connor was trying to comfort the people around him.
Relentless helped the family cover Connor's final expenses and a very nice Relentless supporter paid themselves to have the same horse that took Connor and his date to prom take him to his final resting spot.
The local police departments shut down roads across 20+ miles with a full ~20 squad car escort for the funeral procession, which spanned over a mile long with well over 100 cars. We were towards the back and it was absolutely amazing to see. Along the way there were people who knew about Connor from the news reports on the charity work he did and through his school and church..... easily a dozen families standing in their yards in "Connor Strong" shirts or with banners.
Thanks again for everyone who supported Connor's fundraising for Relentless ( he raised money FOR Relentless and refused to ask for a cent).... Thanks to everyone who wrote a nice message to him. And thanks to everyone on here who has supported Relentless - letting us do stuff like this with/for kids like Connor.
