I am 45 yrs old. Been into lifting since 17 and involved in combat sports for over 20 yrs. I was cycling test from my 20's up until my 40's following the general rule of time on equals time off.

For the past 2.5 yrs I had decided to stay on a low dose of test (100mg every 6th day of cyp). The main symptoms I am having fit an enlarged prostate to a T. The main issue is having to strain much more when urinating. I had been consuming alcohol a few days a week also. I noticed urination problems particularly when drinking beer so I stopped that. On top of the alcohol I was consuming at least one energy drink a day.

Since the prostate issue has been really bothering me, I have stopped caffeine and alcohol consumption altogether. I also got full spectrum bloodwork done and the doc said everything looked good and I wasn't over doing it with the test.

My questions are: Is my prostate going to continue to get larger and give me more problems urinating? I have begun taking a prostate supplement but I am worried that this issue will get worse. Should I consider going off the test entirely?

Bro, it comes with age. Usually happens in your mid 40s. Be glad that your blood work came back good. Get your PSA tested every year. If necessary, get a prescription of Flomax to help with the ease and frequency of urinating.

I started having prostate enlargement problems in my late 40s. I'm sure the TRT didn't help, but it's also not uncommon for all man as they reach their late 40s and 50s. For me, it presented as needing to pee once during the night, whereas I always had slept completely through the night and peed in the morning.

I took saw palmetto for years, as many people say it works, but it did absolutely nothing for me. The one thing that does help is low dose cialis (e.g., 5mg/day). Thankfully, the issue hasn't gotten any worse, and I'm now almost 60, but I still get up once a night to pee.

I get up 4-5 times per night to piss out a few dribbles at a time it is FUCKED
been taking 2 flowmax per night for 8 months it seemed to help a little at first with just one but stopped working and now it is 2 but blah blah
funny thing is while having a sex marathon of a couple hours or more I can get the urge to urinate and bending it down and being careful I have a huge piss a couple times and it actually feels like it is emptying my bladder each time.
My assumption is since the prostate is flexing and whatever else it does while leaking pre-ejac fluid that it is somehow relieving pressure on the Urethra an opening it up.
Anyway I have had 4 surgeries "down there" from being shot through the scrotum in 1995 and was not wanting to go back to a Urologist but it has been 17 years since seeing one after just getting home so I am checking it out next week.
To the OP it does come with age to many but wtf can you do, yes some compounds seem to make it worse.
There is a procedure I believe called the "Urolift" that I may end up getting done, I know and older guy that had it done and he said he can pee like crazy now.
Will keep the board posted as to how it goes if I get it done.
Good luck with it.

The more AAS we use over the years the more it skews the androgen to estrogen receptor ratio in favor of androgens, leading to increased prostate growth. Even if we stopped using in our later years, most of us have cycled enough to have a higher androgen receptor density. There isn't a lot you can do other than reduce systemic inflammation as much as possible.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone. Gettin old sucks. It just seems like a few years ago I was pissing just fine. Now everything is different. Past few years I began casually drinking a few times a week and that seems to be when it started to get worse.

Littleguy, if you do get that procedure I'd definitely like to know how it goes.

At 54, there are times that my prostate feels a little swollen. One of the things that has helped me for the last year has been daily dose of 5 mg of cialis along with kegel exercises. Yes, I know most think of it as a woman thing, but men can do it also.
As we get older, allot of people spend more time sitting down and our prostate doesn't have the best blood flow to it in the first place. Sitting more puts more pressure on it.
I have a routine in the morning where I will do my core exercises and lower back stretching. While laying on my back, you can tense up below and squeeze as if you are trying to stop yourself from peeing. Holding the squeeze for a 5 count. You can also bring your heels up close and then hip thrust and pretend you wife is on top and you are trying to push it into her. Again, hold the thrust and squeeze for a 5 count.
This just forces more blood flow down there and gets a little more circulation going. I can honestly say in about a week of doing this, I was getting relief from feeling pressure down there and slowly, my pee stream was allot stronger. Just something to try.
All the best.

You should look into the HoLEP procedure. It’s a life changer.

Wow, I'm far from alone. I squat to pee...there I said it. On trt for 11 years now, I'm 55 and feel the need to piss and maybe! Tests don't reveal anything, I can make it 4-5 hrs sleeping without pp but there's always a slight urge and it can take 1/2 hour to pee! If I drink alot of water I'll piss every 1.5 hrs but it's a good 6 hr delay from intake. Going in two weeks for latest checkup. Also I barely "nut" anymore, I'll climax (sounds gay) but very little juice....wtf. Wife loves not taking a big load...I'm depressing myself...good night.

Man, that's about where I am. Early 40s and started noticing I'll get up to pee once through the night couple times a week now. I never had to get up and pee after going to bed. I might have had to go real bad in the morning, but I never woke up during the night thinking, "Damn I got to pee." Sucks.

Would you mind stating your trt program and how long you've been involved in using AAS?

I'm 59 and have been on TRT for 12 years. For several years pycogenol and saw palmetto were sufficient to allow me to pee normally, but now they don't help. My urologist has me on cialis 5mg/day and tamsulosin HCL .4mg/day and I pee just fine.
