Do the women make less because they have to distribute the money over so many categories vs one for the men?

I would assume (and you know what they say about assumptions) that the men get paid more because it's a "man's sport." For the record (Attention RottenRogue et al) I don't stand behind that statement, I think thats just how Weider treats it. The Mr. O contest probably brings in more money in terms of supp and magazine purchases.

Regarding your theory admin if you add up the women's prize money it totals less than 195K - less than Jay Cutler made.

They certainly have to work a hell of a lot more than their male counterparts considering they are lacking the natural ability that men have to produce muscle mass... I agree with your opinion here!

^^^ Agreed, and probably going on the Men's side of it has been around longer and is considered the "Main event"

I think until women pull in the same kind of attention, crowds and fame for the contest they won't make the same money.... but shouldn't have any problems pulling in other gigs from placing at olympia

In what sport do women get paid more then men? Im sorry but women don't draw in crowds the way men do. I don't say it to be rude but its true. Whens the last time you watched a WNBA game? Probably never. They will never make as much in sports as men.

Until the switch to "Ms. Topless Olympia Figure" and include pole dancing as one of the events, I'm not sure I'm gonna tune in, lol.

But in all seriousness, it's all about marketing. The guys make more because they are more marketable. There are far more men than women out there willing to spend their hard earned cash on silly muscletech supplements :)
