I've been off for about a year now... wanted to do something different so I started doing 100 squats/day 5-6 days a week.

Wondering if anyone else has ever thought about hitting the legs hard everyday for a while. I'm not going heavy like I would on leg days, (700-800 lbs x 15/12/8/8/6 drop single plate and work backwards doing negatives till it burns!). I've always had back issues with squats so i've keeping it at a light 135-155 lbs

I'm mainly using it to help bring up test levels and put a little bit of load on overall body

I'd go every other day maybe. But an interesting thought.

Seems excessive.

What's the end goal?
Hypertrophy, strength, endurance?

for the time being ya, and to help increase test .... and of course this has nothing to do with size or power (normal the normal squat chat)

i've always wondered on the overall impact of squats on the body and have a good idea of what heavy squats do but I cant comment on light/high rep squats on such a high volume bases.

This monty alone i've done close to 960 squats (avg of 80 a day, for a total of 12 days so far) and I have to say ... i feel pretty damn good so far

If you are doing sets of 15 with 800 pounds I can't imagine that you need to bring up your size or test levels. But you must be doing something right, carry on

Oh man... to clarify, 800 lbs are on a incline leg press and not squats! sorry that was not clear

I did 100 reps at 245lbs over 13 sets a few years ago and it took me 90 minutes and I was sore as fuck for a couple days. Can't imagine doing that every day.

I think if you are doing an intense squat session twice a week is plenty.

I thought the same thing when I first read the post, but didn't want to say anything. Haha. Makes more sense now.

To your point, if you can manage to squat a weight that actually taxes your muscles 100x a day 6 days a week..... You're a much stronger man than me.

This wouldn't be done with enough weight to cause the desired adaptation. If you tried to use enough weight you would over train rapidly.

This is a cool idea if you are a fat girl who wants to post every day on Facebook that they did 100 squats #bootygainz

However you would probably just bring over some hard earned type 2 muscle fibers to type 1.

What are the "back issues" when you squat?

Because you are working so hard so long won't you get to a point of diminishing returns because cortisol is going to go crazy too?

Myself I would just start at a "safe" weight and do some sort of linear progression with adequate rest between workouts. I bet your strength comes back really fast. I'm constantly amazed by how much muscles "remember".
