1,100 Pound Deadlift sets New World Record at Arnold 2011!

Zydrunas Savickas and Brian Shaw both lifted 1100 lbs in competition. After three judged competition lifts, competitors were allowed a fourth lift to try to break the previous record deadlift of 1100lbs by Benedikt Magnússon in 2008. In this fourth lift, Mark Felix lifted 1105.5lbs followed by Big Z who lifted an incredible 1110.5lbs

Not taking anything away from that lift, but with the bar bending so much, he wasn't actually pulling the full 1110 pounds from the very bottom. Anybody know what the world record is with a bar that doesn't bend at all? Still incredible, and he made it look pretty easy.

It wasnt an official pl deadlift because it isnt a pl comp. In strongman we can hitch it and use any means to get it up.I wouldnt take credibility out of the lifts for that reason.

SAD is there a bar that wouldnt bend on 1100 pounds? we have 1500 rated bar and it starts to bend at roughly 415.
