Lemon is so good for you. I just read an article on how to incorporate it in your daily meals. You freeze the entire lemon (including the rind) and then grate it all and keep it in the freezer until you need it but put it in your shakes, or cooked meals. It's so healthy for you.
I hear you, but mayo is life. haha I would personally only put a little and add extra spices like; garlic salt, or all purpose spice, maybe kick it up a notch with something spicy.
I've also read somewhere for those with allergies to get local honey and eat it. I put honey in my food, drinks, everything. I mix concoction of honey, lemon, water, and apple cider vinegar for health reasons.
