    Working Out and Travel

Intercontinentals are the only hotels I've found that regularly have good gyms. I usually just use free week/day tryouts or month/week-long memberships at local gyms. Doing that now. Usually cheap and no recurring payments.

The Official 'What movie(s) have you watched lately' thread

Extraction 2 was good. I really enjoyed it, especially the hack squat kill.

Gym gear what are you wearing?

UA and Born Primitive. Nike shoes: Metcon/Romaleos

    Stubborn fat areas

What were your sides? I've never used it but I'm interested.

    Calcium score anybody?

The doctor administering a DoD physical before I went overseas years ago suggested this. Mine was 0 (probably 10+ years of continuous usage prior to this test). From what you mentioned, you're doing all that you can, as long as you're also monitoring your BP. I don't believe it's reversible, so...

    Torn Supraspinatus

That's a good idea about the sling in the shower. I'll do that. I know I can't be totally on guard all of the time, so the potential is there for an inadvertent screw-up when the shoulder start feeling more normal.

    Torn Supraspinatus

Great information. I haven't done flat bench for years due to shoulder pain (same shoulder) from an injury while in the military back in 2000. Hope this will fix that too, not that I need to do flat bench. I prefer plate-loaded machines/cables or dumbbells. Either way, I'll avoid anything that...

    Torn Supraspinatus

Anything specific you avoid even after a full recovery? Really, the only thing that bothers me (it makes sense) are full-extension dumbbell lateral raises. When I reduce the torque by using me elbow (on machine), it's much reduced. I don't mind cutting them out, though if needed, since I can...

    Torn Supraspinatus

Thanks, Mid. I agree that lower-body and core work will take precedence. I'm looking forward to learning some new things and becoming more complete in my fitness approach. Definitely plan on doing 2 - 3iu GH. It's been about 10 years since I touched the stuff but no better time than now to...

    Torn Supraspinatus

Someone mentioned Deca / GH / IGF-1 LR3 / BPC-157 for rehab aids. I stay on TRT all year round, so I'll have a base of that. Just looking to add a few things that might speed the process, not that I'm looking to go more quickly than what's prescribed. I'm going to be very careful with the...

    Torn Supraspinatus

Just confirmed that I have a torn supraspinatus in my non-dominant shoulder. Surgery at the end of the month. Six weeks in a sling and six months until fully healed. Anyone had similar experience? Looking for information on recovery, e.g., rehab, GH, etc.

Norelco Bodygroom with the back attachment works well too.

I could see that happening too.

    Blood Clots!

I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm really glad that you were diagnosed so quickly. You can probably avoid most of the mistakes I made because of the quick diagnosis. Being on Warfarin, within therapeutic range, isn't bad (I never have issues with abnormal bleeding) and as long as you keep an eye...

    Over Developed Traps...but this helps

Definitely liked standing better, but I definitely understand lying down if traps are overdeveloped. Really prefer the climbing rope attachment too. Adds an extra amount of articulation over the thicker rope.

    Over Developed Traps...but this helps

I was thinking the new angle might be a good change too, if I could keep the range of motion. Let me know how it goes.

    Over Developed Traps...but this helps

You don't mind the decrease of range-of-motion when you lie on your back while doing face-pulls? I use those in hopes of hitting my rhomboids, to pull my shoulders back, so the extra range of motion from standing seems needed?

    Blood Clots!

I have Factor V Leiden deficiency (known since 2007) which increases my chance of blood clots significantly. Due to this, I've experienced clots that extended from my groin to ankle among other places. I've been on Coumadin / Warfarin since 2007 but it's never interfered with cruising /...

GPLD1 Study, Brain Benefits of Exercise through a protein supplement?

Interesting. Thanks for the information. Are there known metrics--e.g., exercise type, intensity, duration--that must be met in order to induce the neuroprotective benefits of these proteins?
