Hey brother, haven't posted on the den in quite some time, went into semi-retirement due to multiple injuries, but, I used to post a reply to a question then go back and see if anyone had the same idea, awesome advices!
if you train till failure, especially every workout, you will over tax your whole system, unless you are 16..
use that sparingly, every 3rd workout or so.
I have read,(believe it or not) that squats actually put more stress on your lumbars..that being said, 3 strips of my hamstring were fashioned into a makeshift acl, with the meniscus totally gone, BUT, in the last 3 years since that injury and my retirement, my squats were as strong and...
In my day we finished with cross bench dumbbell pullovers, Arnold claimed that once he implemented this into his arsenal he gained 5 extra inches on his chest, and an awesome way to stretch out the ribcage.
I forgot bench dips, I can't do 'regular' dips, but purportedly bench dips fill in the area right above the elbow, and saves your shoulder if you have delt issues.
5x5, the single best move I ever made. the first 3 months, I gained , no exaggeration, 20lbs of quality muscle, could have been just the change up from years of trillion set sessions but don't really matter, It worked.
Iv'e heard of 1/8 squat, Mr. Tom platz recommended, the 1/4? I can only say that maybe a useful tool for powelifters stuck in the upper portion of their lift?

First, you will never know what routine works for you until you give it a decent run, usually 2 months or so in my opinion, but I will quote Dorian Yates '' I would never waste my time driving to the gym, setting up, just to train a small body part, such as arms or calves''.
ha!! sounds familiar brother, same situation, different state..my particular run in with the ''trainer''( I know he was one, it said so on his shirt) happened at world gym.
