Hello, everyone! I have an unusual treadmill requirement, and I'm hoping the many specialists out there will assist me. I've had my Healthrider Softstrider 600 HRC for over a decade and adore it (d). In comparison to other gym machines, running on the 600HRC seemed like running on a cloud, and it's exceptionally solid and shake-free. When I'm away from home and have to use other equipment, I've always noticed that my speed and perceived effort diminish substantially. It's not a case of my home treadmill being "off" because I use a GPS-calibrated Garmin foot pod. My treadmill runs are frequently limited by knee/leg joint stiffness as I increase speed and distance. The deck fractured lengthwise around five years ago, and TMD sent me a downgraded third-party/generic deck. It had to be hacked down somewhat using a jig saw, and it is missing the 14" length.

I must have re-read his post a dozen times trying to "find" his question....I finally concluded that MAYBE he is asking why the difference between his tm and the ones he uses abroad?...

I’m trying to understand your question. Are you asking why one treadmill you perform better on vs another?
Not sure why other than speed settings can be different

Have you ever tried an ARC machine? We have 2 at our gym and it is basically a cross between a stepper and a treadmill. Kinda like cross country skiing. Does not have an electric motor so no electricity required. The screen must run off a small generator. You can get a new one for approx. $1000 the last time I checked. Because there is no direct strain on the knees or any joints, for that matter, you can get a really good workout in with zero joint pain.

I'm a compact treadmil user here, use this Dynamax RunningPad as my daily workout.
It is a reliable and practical solution for anyone who wants to work out. Easy to set up, compact and foldable.
