One of the best talks on: really what actually builds mass.
If anyone knows how to build mass its Tom Platz.
Listen to him try to explain how that is accomplished and what is involved.

Slow the hell down, this improves mind-muscle connection.
Increase your time under tension to increase metabolic-stress driven hypertrophy.

Platz was fucking great, loved him.

Platz IS the king and always will be one of the best.

Personally I have tried many different methods over the years and for ME and due to may injuries (motorcycle accidents, smarting off to my wife, and other mishaps) I can't lift heavy like I used too so I have changed my complete workout to lighter weight to high reps and I have not seen this much muscle size increase in over 10 years. My joints don't hurt as much and I am getting new growth I hadn't gotten in years going heavy. I use slow high reps and several more sets per body part.

I will admit I am not as strong as I was 10 years ago but that may or may not be age but I am also getting hurt way less.
