Could I play football full time as a job and build more muscle and keep my gains? I understand cardio burns a lot of calories but couldn't I just eat more . Just need advice.

It's possible to keep gains, just create right diet and training scheme.
It will be hard to gain big mass, but it will not be superfluous. It's real to build a beautiful body if you are football player, but you must avoid overtraining (bcoz your gains will be worse).

the NFL season lasts at most 6 months if your team makes it to the S.B. you didn't say what league you play in but if its not the NFL then your season is prob 4 months so you have approx. 4 mo. to maintain size and strength and then 8 mo. to grow. you could get brady's and now gronk's trainer as they seem to get major benefits from his training.
