You're at 5 weeks, and I'm assuming you're using long estered test with the deca, so the gear should just now be kicking in at peak stable levels. Make sure you train hard, but if you really want to maximize your progress, you'll couple the gear and training with a strong diet. From your pics, it looks like you've got a big frame, but carrying some bodyfat. While some people gain good muscle while losing fat, most of us aren't that lucky.

I would recommend a diet just slightly above maintenance calories. Normally that's about 15kcal/lb (of lean mass). If you weigh 200, and are 20% bodyfat, you've got 160lbs of lean mass for calorie calculations. Eat cleanly just above maintenance (maybe 17-18 kcal/lb of lean mass), at a macronutrient profile of about 40/30/30 of protein/carb/fat. Proteins such as lean beef, chicken, eggs, and fish. Carbs such as brown rice, sweet potatos, and fats such as almonds, avocado. A good extra meal source is protein shake with heavy whipping cream. You got nutrient dense protein with pure fat from the whipping cream without any simple sugars.

So many guys in the gym could take their physiques to a whole other level with smarter nutrition. On the cycle, drop all your alcohol. It's the equivalent of throwing down handfuls of M&Ms. Pure sugar dumped into the bloodstream. You want complex carbs that slowly elevate your blood glucose, and can get metabolized slowly. Go from 3 meals per day to 6 per day. Don't change the total number of calories much, just spread those calories over a longer time period in smaller amounts. Will keep the metabolic furnace stoked.

Good luck.

What's your projected cycle length? 12 weeks? Deca seems to hit me about week 8. You're really going to have to push the pace on both the diet and the gym. It doesn't look like you have a lot of gym background coming into this cycle; be careful of injury. Push yourself, but don't sacrifice form and execution for numbers on the bar. I would also get a solid plan in order for your PCT workouts and accountability. Coming off of long cycles can be a mind fuck as hormone levels drop and performance begins to dwindle. Find a way to keep that motivation high. Best of luck; keep us posted.

Probably just start to work good so keep plugging away. Eat enough GOOD foods to grow muscle.

Looks like you could have progressed a lot in the gym with a proper diet and good routine before you started any gear. Good luck on your cycle.

Just curious how old you are?
You might get some good results from 400mg of test. But that is going to suppress your natural testosterone levels, without giving you maximum bang for your buck.
If you have your Ai on hand and understand when to use it. You would get the results you're looking for off of 750mg. test, and have an easier time cutting fat.
You need a treadmill. That's not being critical it's just a facts. You probably have more muscle than you think, it's just hidden underneath a thick layer of fat. You'll never see your abs, and you'll never see the vascularity that you're wanting, without getting on that diet people are telling you about. And as already mentioned, be careful with heavy weights, your tendons are not ready for it. And sometimes you get strong really fast when that test kicks in.

Yup... To echo Mr Hat. Your muscles will increase in strength at a faster rate than tendons/ligaments which is why so many get injured thinking that the steady increases in weights lifted is ok. Throw in extra reps/volume to help accommodate.
