Didn't realize there was a Fiber Monger/conglomerate pushing a fiber point of view. I have read studies that the more fiber you have the lower chance of colon cancer and GI issues.
#fiber4life!

Yup… based on terribly abysmal research, and flawed institutional dogma for various incentivized reasons.

Hopefully you actually read and view the posted info (examples I posted) for some broader understanding, rather than just continue to believe and thus perpetuate / pass along harmful bs.

Man.. I don’t know where my life would be like without fiber. Besides all the raw fruits and veggies I eat, I take Metamucil every day. Yes I like the clean poops, but because it also helps keep cholesterol in check too. Lots of great benefits to eating a lot of fiber. Plus besides whatever one person is saying, most people don’t get enough fiber and need to increase their intake. The studies published aren’t Abysmal research that’s flawed along with some conspiracy theory about fiber.

Testboner, you’re essentially trying to convince people who drive a combustion engine to plug their vehicles in at night.

If they’re not eating carnivore or close to it, then the fiber is very likely helping and at least helping the impacted non-healthy foods to make their way to the porcelain throne. Tough to tell them to stop because it would also mean changing their entire diet.

That said, when I took fiber as a part of my regular diet before carnivore, IF I had a really good fruit and veggie smoothie that morning, I didn’t need fiber that day at all. It was purely for the days I missed my naturally fiber filled smoothies. If you need both a high fiber diet AND a fiber supplement, maybe check out your diet.

Lastly, and this has nothing to do with my current challenge and way of eating, I have long been against supplementation. I’ve always thought you should be able to eat everything you need, without having a powder form of it (or pill or tablet, etc). I still think you can do this. Our species did for thousands and thousands of years…

Well said SAD.

Note I did describe (to mostly deaf ears) in a previous post:

“it’s not “essential” to the human diet, and has no purpose when our diet consists of proper ingredients (a proper human diet). When the correct foods are consumed consistently, our gut biome and subsequent digestive processes are smooth and efficient…. no need for excess bulk ingredient to “evacuate” / poop. Fiber really only serves a function in fucked up diet — and can and will in and of itself fuck up an otherwise correct diet.”

It’s tragic really. Just as such a large number these days believe they NEED a vaccine, and drugs to be healthy — so too do they believe in the need for fiber instead of fixing the foundational flaws (causing lack of metabolic and sufficient robust immune health) within their dietary ways to begin with.

It’s the same as someone who gets headaches believing they NEED aspirin or an NSAID, or some prescription drug to rid the headache, rather than ultimately correcting the root cause/s of their headaches to begin with. They’d rather remain convinced that without the aspirin, nsaid or meds they’d be stuck and screwed.

And then when you begin pointing to the truth of this — we’re told our examples of such info are quacks and conspiracy theorists. They’d rather surrender to highly funded, promulgated institutional narratives and be kept in dependence rather than liberated.
:-(

LK,
The bulk of regurgitated “evidence” for promoting fiber, is based on epidemiological studies — well known to be inconclusive / unreliable .
RCT (random controlled trials) studies for supporting fiber are few, and notable of those that do exist, don’t support the conclusion of claimed benefits nor necessity.
This goes for GI function and for colon cancer incidence.

How bout you eat what makes you feel good and I'll eat what makes me feel good? Don't know if you are referring to added fiber or natural fiber in everyday foods. But not matter what I post you will refute with 10 videos and 9 studies and I really don't have time to bicker back and forth with you these days.

To me, this is a BBing, fitness, diet/health forum — all things related.
America’s health is fucked — pretty much the worst in the world, certainly the worst in the “developed world.”
We’re the most medicated, diseased, and medical industrial complex intense clusterfuck of the globe.
For health to happen, correct information needs exposure. There’s a lot of ground to cover, a lot of bases to touch.

When did I ever try and say you or anybody else can’t do what they want??
The postings on all this stuff are information about what’s actually healthy, necessary, and why — and what isn’t and why.

It’s all good to discuss, debate, refute, etc about what drugs are good, better, best, or bad and why — but not food/diet ?????

No doubt. The larger overall context of the question: Do we need fiber, is whether or not it’s actually necessary as a routine substance as part of our dietary requirements — essential.
That’s easy to answer; No, we don’t.

That’s much different than the question posed as; Can fiber help with stomach related function?
That answer is, Yes.
BUT…. it’s not “essential” to the human diet, and has no purpose when our diet consists of proper ingredients (a proper human diet). When the correct foods are consumed consistently, our gut biome and subsequent digestive processes are smooth and efficient…. no need for excess bulk ingredient to “evacuate” / poop. Fiber really only serves a function in fucked up diet — and can and will in and of itself fuck up an otherwise correct diet.

This is the point MASSIVE amounts of controversy and contention takes off in such a convo.

It’s profound, quite remarkable in fact that the general belief and promulgated institutional mindset is that fiber helps digestion. The reality is that the overall majority of digestive related ailments are the result of the effects from fiber.

Summarized: Proper diet = no fiber “needed.” Improper diet = fiber required to help push shit out of the body. And along with the actions of it (fiber) that cause that, come a plethora of difficulties and distresses that become interpreted as normal digestive function. Some (just some) examples being; burps, hiccups, bloat, farts, stomach aches.
This is possibly the best "in a nut shell" explanation I've read on the subject. Isn't it amazing to see the diet dogma and programming at work?

Many years ago when I was like 23-24 I was fat as fuck. I went to the Dr. and nutritionists and they all said the same stuff. A diet of about 70% carbs, very low fat and high fiber was what I needed. Because "a calorie is a calorie." So I did what the experts said (same shit they are still saying) and just kept getting fatter. Dropped the calories down from about 3,000 per day to 2,500. Still gaining. Started doing a shit ton of cardio and backed the calories down to 1,500-1,800 per day, you guessed it, still getting fatter by the day and having to shit 2-3 times per day due to all the fiber and carbs. Then I read in a book somewhere and I don't remember who it was but it was an old school body builder. He was talking about eating higher fat, protein and very low carbs. I jacked my calories to over 4,000 per day, stopped doing cardio and cut out about 95% of the carbs. Magically lost 70 pounds in 9 months.

Came in here a few months ago and was talking about it and again I heard the old "a calorie is a calorie" bullshit. And the "need" for carbs and fiber. Again I jacked my calories from around 3,000 per day to almost 6,000 per day (all meat) and DID NOT increase activity at all and lost 51 pounds in just a few months. Theory is great but real world results are final. To blatantly say this approach doesn't work is to be ignorant and turn a blind eye to the FACTS staring you in the face.

Awesome GS,

Really happy to hear you found your end of following the consensus of establishment dogma, and were diligent to continue seeking out truth of what works.
I love hearing success stories like your’s.

Definitely to each his own. Especially nowadays.

Where is Goldy and his pancakes when you need them?
They weren't kosher and he got kicked out of the tribe.

Can't remember theast time I took a supp or a pill besides my daily old man cialis.
