I have had acne for at least 20 years, from severe to moderate.Tried every antibiotic, creams, tanning, accutane. You name it I have used it.In the last couple of months, dropped my test dose down to 100mg every 8 days.Started blasting some hcg to get my balls back.I broke out like crazy, big painful zits, even my scalp was covered.Had lunch with a friend,he said"i should try bactrim".Went to the derm, put me on 980mg/ed.After 10 days I'm clear, not one zit left standing.I wish I had used bactrim 20 years ago,it's been a life changer. You can't stay on it forever,I'm doing blood work every 2 months so nothing gets out of whack. It's one of the only antibiotics that will treat staph so you don't want to use it to long.

Yeah, I have Bactrim on hand myself. I found Rifampin to be most effective against cystic acne. Three to five days and it's gone.

Never heard of that one.Looks like a serious antibiotic used to treat leprosy. The thing is you don't want to build up a resistance to these drugs, they're a last defense to a lot of serious infections.

Yeah, it's used for tuberculosis! Strong stuff for sure. They gave it to me in jail when I had staph all over my chest, back, face, and scalp. Cleared most of it in three days.

If anyone is interested, I looked at ADC for pricing and it's-

30 tabs- $4.35

60 tabs- $7.97

90 tabs- $11.41

It's listed as-

Sepmax 800mg + 160mg (960mg)

It's generic for Septra DS which is the same as Septra, Bactrim and Bactrim DS, you can google them all together.

Sulphamethoxazole (800) + Trimethoprim (160)

Good post Cabo.

I know the stuff is so cheap^^good find.I don't think big pharma can make any money on it so it's never prescribed.
