Welcome to The Iron Den
Where strength athletes share techniques for building muscle, burning fat and the proper use of anabolc steroids to help you meet your fitness goals.
...then you have come to the right place!
we will try to help you with your problem.
I cut from around 217 lbs down to 194 lbs, starting around the middle of December 2011. I am currently working with Nutrition Perfection (NutNut) as my diet coach. After I get done June 9 with NAS Parker Days contest in Parker, CO, I will begin prep for the NPC Warrior Classic in Loveland, CO. I will be competing in the women's open bodybuilding division. That will be my first bodybuilding contest.
Good luck to you! Don't put too much pressure on yourself! It's your first one so have fun with it so you will want to do it again!
Exactly the right kind of attitude to have when approaching something new like this. Think of it as a challenge...a FUN challenge. And have fun learning. Hopefully you will place!
I'll make something productive of it all, but placing would be really cool! I'm interested to see how well I can do at a new discipline.
Best of luck. Congrats so far.

strongwoman and bodybuilding? can not wait to see the results! will this affect your weight class for strongwoman? probably a dumb question lol but wondering how much stronger you will be in a lighter class.
looking forward to the pics from the show!!!
I got this bright idea last year to complete as a middleweight, so that meant I had to lose about 40 lbs. I want to compete as a lw (164 and under) at Parker Days on June 9, so I thought if I get that lean, might as well keep at it and do a bodybuilding contest! So far, my strength is hanging in there. The lifts I have always been good at (DL and Squat, rows) I am making progress at. Lifts I struggle with (overhead press), I am holding in there, but not making Max attempts. So, for this contest I am pleased with my strength. After August 18, when the Nov show is, will go full bore on Nats prep. Loss of nonfunctional mass has not had too much negative influence on my lifting.
Yay! I'm excited you are joining the show crowd! I will be watching and cheering you on!
Overhead press is something I always struggle with.it just does not come up like the other lifts. For me Consistant benching has helped with my log .And well there is not treally any hope for my axle LOL.
I am proud and impressed with you for doing a BB show .
