    Post Mrs.V. "The Building"

Since I have a journal on another forum...I am going to transfer it from there to here just to bring everyone up to date...After I do that, I will ( At SOME point today ) post my "story" after I get home from the female child's "Memorial Day" choir performance...

So, bear with me as I transfer this journal...It will take some time to do...When I refer to .V. in the journal, I am referring to my AWESOME hubby, and trainer...Hopefully he will join up here too...

    Re: Mrs.V. "The Building"

OK, so I am going to attempt to do this...

Even though I started working out about 6 months ago and yes, I do wish I had been doing this journal all along because my numbers are so much higher now than when I started...

I do remember them, however so I will just state them in this, my 1st post and bring it up to date also in this post as well...

6 months ago, these were my stats: Weight 172lbs
    Leg Press...............80lbs
    Bench Press............20lbs
    Curls......................10lbs
    Skull Crushers..........10lbs
    Row.......................10lbs
    Crunch...................20lbs
    Lat Pull...................20lbs
    Over Head Press.......10lbs
    Rack Pull.................40lbs

Yeah, I know...NOT IMPRESSIVE at ALL...But remember, I weighed 450lbs in 1998...Lost 320lbs by 2000...Gained 100lbs when I got pregnant with my son...Starved that 100lbs off (literally I did NOT eat for MONTHS at a time)...I was in the gym from June 1998 to April 2001...With absolutely NO RESULTS PERIOD...My trainer wasn't the best, huh?!?!

3 months ago these were my stats: Weight 151lbs
    Leg Press...............250lbs
Bench Press.............70lbs (missed 1 rep on my 5th set)
    Curls.......................60lbs
Skull Crushers...........60lbs (elbow starting to give)
    Row........................80lbs
    Crunch....................75lbs
    Lat Pull....................75lbs
    Over Head Press........50lbs
    Rack Pull.................100lbs

I did have to re set after this and these are the results: Weight 164lbs
    Leg Press............360lbs
    Bench Press..........90lbs
Curls & Skull Crushers are now OUT of my workout for 2 reasons, the elbow starting to give and the NEW workout .V. has set up for us exercises our arms MORE than doing Curls & Crushers
    Row...................115lbs
    Crunch...............My own weight of 150lbs
    Lat Pull................95lbs
    Over Head Press....65lbs
    Rack Pull.............160lbs

Now I am on an A, B workout: Weight 161lbs (With a re set)

This is the last couple of weeks...

Cardio has been added to this NEW workout as well...20 minutes 3 times a week...With 1 day being the 12 minute Tabata Cardio on Elliptical...

    A Workout:
    Leg Press............................................3 60lbs
    Bench............................................. .....80lbs
    Reverse Row (failure x 3).....................12, 8, 6
    Crunch (my body weight, failure x 3)...50, 50, 40

    B Workout:
    Leg Press............................................. ........290lbs
    Rack Pull.............................................. ........155lbs
Over Head Press....55lbs (I did convert to Clean & Jerk)
    Pull-Ups...With 55lbs of assistance (failure x 3)...8, 5, 6
    Push-Ups (failure x 3)................................17, 20, 17

    A Workout:
    Leg Press..........................360lbs
    Bench................................80lbs
    Reverse Row (F x 3)..........9, 10, 7
    Crunch (my BW, F x 3)....40, 45, 40

    B Workout:
    Leg Press............................................. 290lbs
    Rack Pull.............................................. 155lbs
    Clean & Jerk...........................................55l bs
    Pull-Up...With 55lbs of assistance (F x 3)...7, 6, 5
    Push-Up (F x 3)................................30, 17, 15

    March 27, 2010-Weight 151lbs

I am feeling very tired and weak today but none the less, I lifted...

    Leg Press............................................. ..................370lbs
    Bench Press...I ramped 5 x 45, 5 x 65, 5 x 75, 5 x 85, 5 x 85lbs
    Reverse Rows...(f x 3)..............................................6, 7, 7
Crunch...I had to skip Crunches...I pulled my back out last week on my 3 set of deadlifts...I tried and failed, stretched out and tried another and there was NO WAY I could do them today...

    Re: Mrs.V. "The Building"

    March 31, 2010-Weight 161 lbs

    Workout B

    Leg Press...175, 200, 230, 260, 295
    Deadlift.....95, 110, 125, 140, 160
    Clean & Jerk.....45, 50, 55, 60, 60
    Pull-ups (f x 3)(-60).......8, 6, 6
    Push-ups (f x 3).........31, 16, 20

Today I actually worked my butt off in the gym for the 1st time in forever...I was drenched in sweat and every single part of my body hurt...By the time I got to the car, however, I had the most energy I have had in months...I really feel that I got the MOST out of every single thing I did today...

For the past couple of days I have "kinda" started my cutting diet...I say "kinda" because of those damn chocolate covered marshmallow eggs that I absolutely LOVE, that only come out at Easter time, keep calling out my name and I just HAVE to buy them and eat EVERY SINGLE ONE...Well, except for the 2 or MAYBE 3 that I give to .V. ... Guess it looks pretty funny walking out of the gym, running to the car and ATTACKING the carton...Oh well...4 more days and the freakin' eggs will be OFF the shelves for another year...

Maybe this time next year I will be on a BULKING diet...I LOVEEEE bulking diets...

    Cardio

    Sprint 8 elliptical routine.

30 seconds maximum effort on the elliptical...
2 minutes "resting" at moderate pace...

Repeat 8 times....AND PASS OUT ON THE FLOOR NEXT TO MACHINE...Don't forget this part...It is VERY important...OMG...This was a GOOD workout...

At first .V. and I were talking about the "Sprint" vs the "Tabata" and I thought maybe the Tabata was a better workout...Then as I thought about it more...I have to agree with him...The Sprint 8 is a lot harder and much more effort is put out for the 30 seconds maximum and 2 minute "rest" than the 20 seconds maximum 10 "resting" (Tabata) because you don't have enough time to recover in 10 seconds to give a full effort for 20 more seconds with the Tabata...

I think I am going to like this "new" way of cardio for us...

    Reverse Rows...(f x 3).........................15, 10, 10

Today was the 1st time in quite some time that I actually felt GOOD in the gym...I have been VERY tired lately...

    Deadlift..........95, 110, 125, 140, 160

    Re: Mrs.V. "The Building"

Okay, I have been a tad bit exhausted this week...Running with interviews at Harrah's Casino and getting up at 3a.m. to make breakfast for .V. so he can get to work on time...Saving money by carpooling with him and sitting waiting for him to get off of work for hours on end and then getting home to rush to the gym just to get home and "start" my day at 8 or 9pm trying to keep the house up to par, laundry, dishes, etc...UGH!!!

So, here in 1 post is this week thus far...

    April 12, 2010
    Workout A

    Leg Press......235, 260, 295, 335, 380
    Bench...................55, 60, 70, 80, 90
    Reverse Row (f x 3).............11, 7, 11
    Crunch (f x 3, body weight) 70, 90, 80

I absolutely LOVE crunches (at one time I could do 500 of them)...However, .V. says they make a "thicker" waistline, which I do NOT want...So I will back them off some (I THINK) toward the end of just before our change up in 4 weeks...Absolutely NO problem what so ever with my 90lb bench today...Went up great with a perfect lock out...

    April 13, 2010
    Cardio day

Sprint 8 and feeling it BIG TIME...Kicked some MAJOR butt tonight doing this...4,848 strides in 20 minutes...WOW!

    April 14, 2010
    Workout B

    Leg Press.......175, 200, 230, 265, 305
    Deadlift...........95, 110, 125, 145, 165
    Clean & Jerk...........45, 45, 50, 55, 65
    Pull-up (-55lbs)(f x 3)..............9, 6, 5
    Push-up (f x 3)..................40, 22, 18

Deads were from the rack... Trying it by rotating 1 week from the floor, 1 week from the rack to "save" my back since its not the greatest back...

I actually LOVE the Clean & Jerk...I feel like I have done something when I am finished with them...

Numbers are still going up and I don't "feel" like I am close to failure on anything yet, but I am sure I am...

    Workout A Weight 164

    Leg Press..........235, 260, 295, 335, 380
    Bench Press...............55, 60, 70, 80, 90
    Reverse Row (f x 3)..................10, 9, 4
    Crunch (f x 3, body weight)....50, 50, 50

Leg press and bench was a breeze today...WOW...Never in my life did I think that benching 90lbs was possible for me...

I am however getting tired of these crunches...Way too time consuming for me...Thinking about going back to weighted crunches...Maybe 3 x 3, I don't know yet...If I feel like I am not getting enough, I will do 5 x 5...

All in all it was a good workout today...

    Workout B Weight 157lbs

    Leg Press (Light).......155, 175, 200, 230, 265
    Dead.....................95, 110, 125, 145, 165
    Clean & Jerk.................45, 45, 55, 60, 65
    Pull-Ups (-55)....................5, 5, 5, 5, 4
    Bench (Light)........................65 x 5 x 5

Doing something different...On workout B, I am doing light bench 5 x 5 instead of push-ups...Pull-ups are 5 x 5...When I can get 5 clean sets, I will decrease the assistance and someday I will start adding weight (So .V. says)...

    Workout A Weight 154lbs

    Leg Press....230, 265, 300, 340, 400
    Bench.............55, 65, 75, 85, 95
    Reverse Row (5 x 5)...12, 7, 5, 5, 5

For the love of all that is good in this world...I have NEVER in my life had a workout like this and I don't wanna ever again...

With .V. pulling in the driveway on ONE wheel from work (70 miles away) so we could get to the gym before they closed.....We got there right at 8:30pm to do an hour's worth of workout.....I walked out at 9pm (closing time) with all of my workout complete accept for my crunches (which is my favorite part )...But, oh well, we do the best we can...

My leg press for this week was supposed to top out at 390lbs, but I added wrong with the rushing and accidentally pressed 400lbs...So, I will leave it at 400lbs since I had no problem pressing it...My 95lb bench went up with no problem what so ever, so that made me happy and my reverse rows were amazing for me...I touched the bar on the majority of them...That is the 1st time I have accomplished this...Out of the 34 rows, I probably didn't touch the bar 5 times...YAY ME!!!

    This was a GREAT workout...

    Sprint 8

I did 3008 strides in my 20 minute workout.

Was a good workout. Most I have sweat doing this one yet...Thighs are absolutely KILLING me...This is a good sign, I THINK...

    Workout B

    60% light today

    Leg Press...160, 185, 210, 240, 275
    Dead........105, 120, 135, 155, 175
    Clean & Jerk.....50, 50, 50, 60, 70

Crap...Gym closes too early for us...We gotta put up .V.'s gym...

Does anyone have ANY clue how we can "rig" up a leg press??? I can't squat yet...

Ok, the 175 on dead's were actually easy but I am starting to lose my grip a little...I have really small hands and its getting tough...

My clean & jerk was SOOO KEWL...Like WOW, KEWL...I absolutely LOVE this part of Workout B...I think I did it pretty darn good considering I really do NOT know WHAT the HELL I am doing...

    Workout B

    Light Day...70%

    Leg Press...160, 185, 210, 240, 275
    Dead........105, 120, 135, 155, 175
    Clean & Jerk.....50, 60, 60, 60, 70
    Chin-Ups (-50)........9, 6, 4, 5, 3
    Bench............55, 65, 75, 75, 75

Oops...I forgetted I was POSED to do 5 x 5 on my chin-ups like the last time I did Workout B...

Last Workout B I used -55lbs assistance for my pull-ups so I tried it this time at -50 for my chin-ups and did just fine...

My deads were from the lowest point in the power rack (below the pins) & I actually didn't have much trouble at all...Surprised myself on that one...I didn't have to go to the mixed grip until I got to the last set this time either, but the 175 started to slip by the 3rd rep...

Guess this means all weights go up next time I do B...
