    Lakers land Dwight Howard

Looks like the Lakers have been very aggressive this off season. They are going to be tough to beat this season.

They've added a lot of pieces but Kobe is on the decline and no longer explosive like he was. I like the Nash addition but Howard is a head case; he should fit in well with Artest. I still think that the Thunder are the better team.

Well its def going to be interesting. I think that adding Howard if his back is healthy will put them as the favorite to win the title over the Heat and Thunder.

Howard's back problems are the least of his issues. His diva attitude & poor work ethic will cause him more problems than anything else.

I'm just glad the "dwightmare" is over. With that said, the Lakers are going to be really good this year. The fact that the Lakers were able to pull this off and hold on to Gasol is amazing and imo what puts them over the top. It's definitely going to be between them and the Thunder this year to win the West, and after watching how bad the Thunder struggled against the Heat last year I think the conference is the Lakers for the taking. The Thunder rely on three guys to score 99% of their points, and one of them completely failed to show up when it mattered most last year. I'm not even sure how well the Heat are going to be able to match up against the Lakers now. That starting five is insane, Kobe, Gasol, Nash, Howard, and Artest. It's going to be fun to watch.

lakers still suck!! im willing to go to Las Vegas and put 100 bucks down that the lakers wont win a championship this year or after, heres why.

they got Nash, big deal, great facilitator on offense but has no DEFENSE! he wont be able to keep up with guards like Russell Westbrook, James Hardin, Tony Parker, Chris Paul and the guy in Denver. late in the season and playoffs, Nash will be tired and fatigued, he is at the end of his career.

Kobe will be Kobe, but he is old now and his body has taken a beating over his career, he had a list of injuries the last few years that are catching up to him.

Dwight will give you about 20 points avg a nite with 7 rebounds and blocked shots, BUT this back injury he has, no telling if he ever recovers to a 100%. back injuries are not like wrist, elbow, ankle injuries. once you have a back injury its tough to be a 100% again, plus dwight will miss some time in the begining of season and they need all the time to gel together.

Artest...lmao poster child for head case! no telling which ron or meta world peace will show up, inconsitant.

Gasol will still get pushed around by other big men, too soft still.

Mike Brown the coach, is no Phil Jackson. only Phil could handle these characters and make this all work, maybe.

lakers dont really have a bench that can hang with teams like OKC, Spurs and the likes. remember the starters cant play all 48 minutes of every game.

lets not forget about history. 2003-2004 season the lakers had the "dream team" with Shaq, Kobe, Karl Malone, and Gary Payton, with role players like Robert Horry and Rick Fox. they had their asses handed to them in the finals by Detroit Pistons. even the first year Miami played with the big 3, they didnt win it all. Lakers just got better on paper, they will win a few more games then last year, but wont win their conference or a title. just my 2 cc's

I shall come back here after the lakers win the championship.. and as for dwight getting 7 rebounds a game.. really? lol he averages a double double every game and im sure he will continue doing so. as for nash your right he can't defend any of the pgs today: drose, rondo, westbrook (best ones right now)
as for dwights back injury.. i think he made it sound more serious then it is because he didn't want to play for orlando anymore
