My Doctor has prescribed me Lyrica for my back (bad sciatic pain) as it can be effective for nerve pain. Been doing some reading, am concerned it's basically a nerve signal blocker..
I'm obviously keen to do whatever I can for the pain but I'm also wondering how this might impact the lifting I CAN do (ie will this translate to weakness).

IDK...My 'ol lady takes it and is still able to do her normal workouts...She's not heavy into weights or anything but does a lot of yoga and cross-training type stuff...She hasn't complained of any weird side effects from it...She's got some sort of weird pain running from her upper back all the way down her arm...The Docs. aren't quite sure what the issue(s) are with her and she's been going through a lot of tests...Anyway, good luck with your back brother...

I got shingles a while back and my doctor prescribed Lyrica.
It turned out I didn't need it much but....

I'm a bodybuilder and he's a power~lifter/ bodybuilder doctor and he would have given me a heads up if it was going to wreck anything.
So I bet you are fine.
