So my kids both got ipads and they are slowing me down while trying to work. Any suggestions for a new router that can handle the volume?
Thank You

I have 2 internet connections, thus 2 routers. Router 1 is for gaming, router 2 is for work. Enough room for all to be happy....So whoever your provider is will probably recommend u get a 2nd internet line.....

anything you can bandwidth throttle. Give the crumb crunchers 56kbs and yourself the rest of the pipe!

I already pay $200/month for freaking cable/internet and do not want to give them another dollar.

I also cannot open this thread again until CTJ changes his avi....

Fiber optic internet, 50mbit up/down Also if your current router has 100mbit or gigabit ports you can use a wired connection... Which although less convenient it will eliminate some latency

Could you not just tell them no internet while I'm working and kick their asses outside?

NetGear N600 - Never seen anyone have much of a problem... if you get it and aren't happy hit me up mate I'll help you configure it and I promise wont have another problem

Edit: I max out my connection at 1.4mpbs down constantly and have things set up so that when I'm online that's throttled to 50% and if I'm using over 400kb then it throttles my other box to 100kb/s, never had a problem

I don't think its your router. I think its your bandwidth. I have around 19 devices on my router. One tablet goes thru 60GB of streaming a month. I have a 60Mbit connedctoso haven't run into any streaming issues. Unless of course you want to get a router that can QoS and prioritize traffic.
