Done bodybuilding for aestheics in the past and have been doing crossfit for 8 months.

Current maxes at 175lbs are:
Squat 405x2 (haven't done 1 rep in 4 weeks which was 405 but I just hit that for 2 two weeks ago)
Deads 455x2 (hit 500 a few months ago but haven't 1 rep'd since.)
Bench 245x1 (been adding bench more and more into my routine)

What kind of numbers do you usually see at local/regiional events in your area for this weight?
I know I have quite a bit in the tank to lift more. It's tough balancing endurance/skill with strength.

You just get on the platform, do your best, and get in the books.

Yes you should compete.

Who gives a damn what other people bench squat and dead. Get yourself in the books. Keep in mind your current maxes were done without a proper peaking cycle.

Do it.

Yes CTJ you should compete. It will push you positive in everyway plus...there's no excitement like the decision to do it and then go do it.

DOOOH ITTTT!!!!!!

Valid points! I guess I was just wondering if those kind of numbers get blown out or not.
Either way, I'll keep stepping it up. It doesn't really matter.

You definitely should man!

Your numbers are impressive too!

a 500 pull at 175 is big time impressive.

All of your numbers are high.

I think you should go for it if you want to compete.

Also, don't worry about training cf and powerlifting. Just make sure you eat enough and you'll be fine.

I used to do High intensity cardio 5 days a week and lift 4 days a week and I was able to put on muscle and get stronger.

So no doubt you can too because you are light years ahead of where I was when I was closer to your weight.

Don't do it. You're like 100 lbs lighter than me and much stronger. You'll hurt my ego and it's already fragile...

Who gives a fukk? I'm in the 220's with similar numbers but I'm competing in October with hopes of 1300....it's for me, not for finishing first.

I'm shooting for something like this:

Squat goal 510
Bench Goal 290
Pull goal 530

Even if I get red lights all over the place and only get 1240, I'll still be happy that I grabbed my sack and did it. Once again, not for anyone else or hardware. It's for ME!!

You should always do everything for your self first and foremost.
