I had lab work done last year and my bad cholesterol was terrible, and my good cholesterol was terrible.
The practitioner gave me Crestor but it makes my stomach hurt.

Are there supplements I can get at the nutrition store that will do the same?

The practitioner also said Niacin can raise good cholesterol, but what about lowering bad cholesterol?

I think I need to work on getting this under control now.

How about eating some oatmeal? The real thing, not oatmeal pop tarts.

I do take fish oils. I don't know the dose strength though.

I was thinking about adding oatmeal, but it's not enough. I had my levels checked before when I was eating oateal daily. I haven't been eating oat ealing lately though.

Niacin. The type that causes flush is said to be more effective. Take with milk
to reduce flush.

dammit saw you mentioned that initially.

I know most don't believe in this but 90% of my diet is farm raised. My cholesterol and bp has been getting far better over the last 18 months.

Fish oil and niacin are good ones. You may want to look into red yeast rice too.

I'll definitely try out Niacin.

I was thinking about the red yeast rice too! I saw it on an herbal cholesterol medicine I used to take.

Coconut oil is good as well

I'll try that one out also.

Is there a reason you are concerned about your cholesterol?

Bad cholesterol causes blockage, and that leads to stroke or heart attack.

I'm not afraid of dying, I'm afraid of being stuck in the middle.

No it doesnt. A lot of docs aren't even testing for it anymore. It doesn't play the role in heart disease we once thought it did. Look at the latest FDA approval for all the cholesterol drugs. When the health effects of cholesterol were disproven the drugs like lipitor were suddenly approved to be used as a treatment for numerous other conditions.

Cut the sugary crap out of your diet and the inflammation it causes in the arteries goes down. That's what will bring on the plaque from healing the inflammation.
